Life's Abundance I have noticed that a lot of owners and breeders are using Life's Abundance dog food for their babies. Dog food analysis and Whole Dog Journal do not give it very flattering reviews. They fuss about the meat content. They also say that it has controversial fillers. Could someone who is more knowledgeable than me-please address this subject for me. Maggie goes in for spay surgery Wednesday morning and her baby brother will be arriving Friday. Looks like I will be a busy daddy for a few days. Please keep Maggie in your prayers on Wednesday. Any help on the dog food would be appreciated. Jimmy |
I just wanted to offer my prayers for Maggie's surgery tomorrow. And congratulations on your new little boy! :) Sorry, I don't know much about Life's Abundance but many members do who can help you. |
Prayers for Maggie. I feed both my dog and my puppy Life's Abundance. I'm certainly no expert though on dog food so I'm hoping someone else can answer your questions. |
I think you might want to try the samples first, after eating the first bag mine refused to eat it anymore. but there are several here that does feed it and a few sell it. and it works great for them I am a firm believer what ever works best for your dog and as long as it stays healthy is what matters :) |
Keeping Maggie in my prayers! Congratulations on your new little one - how fun that will be! I am a Yorkie Dog Food virgin - I know NOTHING other than what I've learned here - and know nothing at all about Life's Abundance, other than Bridget wouldn't eat it (that and about 6 other top rated foods). What I did find though is that with a picky eater like Bridget - if I found something that was even catagorized in the middle top end of the ladder - I was ok - she is eating. It did me no good to buy the most expensive (not that good necessarily means MOST expensive) if she wasn't going to eat it. She is eating Holistic Select - not as good as some - but a far cry from as bad as others. The best did her no good if it was in the waste basket. I'm sure someone will be able to answer your question. |
Keeping Maggie in my thoughts! Good luck, she will be fine. :) I know how scary it is to put them under for anything. I have no personal experience with Life's Abundance. I personally think it's a little low on meat content, for what I would prefer to feed but I don't think there's anything alarming about the food, except it may be a bit grain heavy. And a lot of dogs do wonderful on it, it's just not something I'd feed. :) I really like Acana the best out of most kibbles, other ones are Orijen, Nature's Variety, Go!/Now!, Fromm, etc. :) |
Life's Abundance Questions? Hi. My name is Willard Morash and I am an independent rep for Life's Abundance. I would be happy to address any of your concerns regarding the products and the company. I am not here as a salesman but instead to provide information as there is a lot of misrepresentation of our products on the internet including how DogFoodAnalysis.com represents our products which I will address. Beyond comparing ingredients, one of the biggest differences in our food (and products) vs. any product that may appear to be comparable is that it is delivered directly to your door from our warehouses. This eliminates any mishandling from third party wholesalers and retailers. Why is direct delivery so important? Our top distributor used to work for another top holistic pet food company that sold through the regular wholesaler / retail channel and he did well at it. He once sold out of all his stock and went to the nearest distributor to buy some from him. This guy was storing the food in a non climate controlled semi trailer for up to a year in Michigan's extreme heat and cold. The nutritional integrity of this food would have been severely jepordized. If you only compare ingredients you miss out on this important factor in food quality. We also make our food in small batches and keep a sample of every batch. Because we deliver direct to the customer, we have every customers contact information on file as well as their order history. SHould we ever have an issue with any batch (been in business 11 years and never had a recall) then we can contact every person immediately who received product from that batch? You can see a few more reasons how we are different from other pet food companies at this link (this IS NOT my rep website... I provide it for informational purposes only). Compare Life's Abundance Learn more about the why DogFoodAnalysis.com is wrong in their review of our products: Response to Dog Food Analysis Here is another common pet food rating system that we review their pitfalls and misconceptions: How To Grade Pet Food Regarding ingredients, there is an audio interview where each ingredient is explained by our exclusive veterinarian formulator DR Jane Bicks. To hear each ingredient explained (including the ones that DogFoodAnalysis.com clain are bad), go to the following link and on the lower right hand side of the page you will see audio clips of "ingredients explained". Ingredients Explained If you have any other questions please post them or PM me and I will be happy to address them. This food is one of the freshest and safest premium pet foods available in the USA. I hate to see people turned off from it by misinformation. Please post your concerns. Sincerely, Will Morash |

I have been feeding Life's Abundance to my 5 furbabies for over a year and they love it. I actually started using it for my Toy Poodle, Eb'i because she has so many allergies(food also) and she has done great on it, as have my 3 Yorkies and Chihuahua. |

Life's Abundance did not work for my crew at all but others have great luck with it...you just have to try and see if it works for you. I feed Fromm's Surf &Turf...it's a great food and it works for us :) |
I just wanted to add, my dogs highly recommend the Gourmet Dental Treats / Honey Peanut Butter Receipe for Adult Dogs.:) They love these treats.:dogprints Their soft and look like little peanut butter cookies. |
Life's Abundance seems to be raved about by those who sell it (reps), but it wasn't right for us. Gave my baby diarrhea which no other food has ever done. If you're wanting to try it though, you can get free samples from reps. |
My dogs ate it for months before I became a rep. Some of us care about the well being of other dogs and enjoy promoting it. I am definitely not getting rich off dog food. Infact, I have spent hundreds of dollars offering free samples to YT'ers. I would suggest you watch the following videos. Also, Dr. Jane Bicks does conference calls every other week to answer YOUR questions. You can PM me for the number. Part 1 YouTube - TrilogyIntl's Channel Part 2 YouTube - TrilogyIntl's Channel |

Ummmmm, that would be why we rave about it. If it works for my babies I will talk about it. |

There are only three meat sources in this and they aren't even all the first three ingredients. Rather, they are the first, the fourth, and the tenth ingredients. The further down the ingredients list they are, the less of the product that is in the food. Most of it is made of veggies, rice, and oats. I don't think LA is a bad or terrible food. I just don't think it's all it's cracked up to be. I'm sure some dogs do great on it, and that's great! Every dog is different and some will do well on something that another dog does terrible on. |

Regarding diarrhea, be sure to switch your dog to our food over a period of a week or so by gradually mixing our food in with the old food in an increasing ratio of new to old each day. This applies to any food you switch your dog to, not just ours. SUdden changes in diet can cause diarrhea. Nutrient dense foods are more prone to this.... ever eat a bunch of fresh fruit or organic food and get gassy / diarrhea? I have a 30 minute audio from a Wednesday night call where Dr Jane reviews the pitfalls of RAW diets as well as compares them to our food. I would be happy to send this to anyone who requests it by email. My email address is HealthyPetFoodUSA@gmail.com Sincerely, Will Moarsh |

And not to be rude, but obviously the manufacturer of this food would have a problem with a raw diet - why credit something that could potentially hinder her product sales? |
I had been feeding my yorkies Life's Abundance for several months now and I sent them an email last week just asking if they were going to make a smaller kibble for small dogs. I didn't care for their reply. Here is the reply I got: "No smaller kibble. Did you ever get bit by a 2 pound puppy? They have very sharp teeth. And – studies show that big dogs like both small and large kibble and small breed dogs like large and small kibble. Makes sense to me! I personally like the larger kibble, not that it is big at all. But, it is better for their teeth and helps them from swallowing it whole. |

Dogs are taxonomically the same species as wolves, and physiologically and anatomically the same and actually share 99.8% of the same DNA. Size and appearance are in the less than .2% differences (thanks to Princess Diana for that information), therefore I like to feed a food that is 'close' to what the wolves eat in the wild (ok, we know wolves aren't getting served kibble in a bowl... but it's the closest you can get, IMO, with the convenience of kibble). I'm actually not even 100% against grains, I will feed treats and occasionally wet food with 'good' and minimal grains in it. I just don't believe they have any real benefit to our carnivores, but I don't think some of them will necessarily hurt or be bad for them, either. Anyways, it's just my personal preference to feed grain free, low carb, meat protein rich foods. Ultimately, though, I think it's what works best for you and your dog. :) I've done alot of research and have finally settled that this works best for Jackson! Again, I don't believe LA is a bad food by any means. And if it worked for my dog, I would obviously continue feeding it and be happy with it. I just don't think it should be such a black or white statement that LA is "the best" and "only" dog food you can trust and feed (you challenging me to find a safer food). That's just simply not the case. But of course someone who sells it is going to state this. Every dog does good on different things and while LA may not work for some, it will work for others. And that's the great thing about variety. We can choose. |

Hello _____, Thank you for your email. We have been asked by many consumers (with dogs both large and small) asking us to consider making ACANA kibble in two different sizes. At this time we have no immediate plans to change the size of the kibble but it might be something that we will consider in the future. Thank you again for your email and please contact us with any further questions or concerns that you may have. I was offended by the comment that, the only raves of the food are by reps. This is simply not true. I have many people that have seen major differences in their dogs. Overweight dogs trimming down (if you feed crappy food they continue to eat and are never satisfied) allergies leaving, firmer stool, no tear stains, etc. Not just reps. Sorry, but I personally spent hundreds of dollars for free samples to YT'ers and very few people got back with me. Some people just want a free sample. I have posted videos of what is really in dog food and how LA is different. I doubt very many even watched it. It is a personal preference and choice to feed what you want, but dont make statements that we say what we say about the food because we are reps for LA. I am not making money, I am losing by giving away free stuff. I believe in the products! All of them! Especially the supplements. After hearing Jane Bicks on calls every other week and people asking her the questions as to WHY she has formulated the food the way she has, I believe it is top of the line! And who else does open conference calls explaining why they formulate it they way they do? There are erroneous sites trying to knock her reasoning and that is exactly why she is writing a book, so these people might learn. There is a reason she is one of our nations TOP Holistic Vets. |

No, you werent the one that said that. It was someone else. I was just stating that it was offensive to me as a Rep who is not profiting by giving away the product. I do it because I believe in it and if I get customers, so be it. If not, I will continue the samples as I can afford to. I enjoy having a relationship with the people in this company. It gives me a sense of security knowing I can visit where it is all made. Its also nice being able to talk the formulator and ask my own questions. Instead of running to the internet and believing the first site I get to. Just my opinions, as you have yours. :) |

I know it's how I feel about Champion, so I know where you're coming from. You can also visit their facility, and actually I remember reading on here someone visited Nature's Variety and said it was so clean and nice, and Champion has always answered my emails quick and professional. They don't have anything to hide and will be honest about everything with their customers as well. I have also never run to the internet and believed the first site I went to. :) What would be the fun in that? I like the research aspect of it. :D |
