Are Bully sticks made from bull penises?
 
I looked up Bully sticks on the web and it said they were made from bull penises yuck gross:confused: Are they really made from that part of the bull? I keep reading about them on YT and everyone says how their dogs love them so I thought I'd looked them up to see what they were because I've never heard of them before.

Yes they are and that's why mine don't get them...I think it's disgusting. There are way too many chewables/edibles made from dead animal parts these days...IMHO.

My kidz would run away from home if they couldn't have their bully sticks...they are made from the tendons of the bull's penis, and it is all sterilized and extremely healthy..it's a wonderful protein that is completely digestible, unlike rawhides, which can kill a dog, by an intestinal obstruction...I only buy bully sticks from free range grass fed bulls, that are not given any hormones, antibiotics or steroids, and only raised in America...I would venture to say, bully sticks are probably more healthy than some dry or canned dog foods...

It is the tendon from the bull yes. In my opinion, it is the best chew other than the Himalayan chew, which is made from cow yak and milk. Bullies are safe and keep them very busy. Most dogs go crazy over them and I would hate to take them from my dogs. They make them so happy.

I was just surprised on what they are made from because I've never heard of them before. All I heard on YT is how much the dogs love them so I looked them up. I'm sure so many wouldn't give them to their babies if they weren't a healthy treat, but the idea of what they are made from is a bit yucky. I don't give my pups rawhide's only nylabones so far to chew on they are just little pups.still

Yeah, it's pretty gross when you think about it but they do love them. lol Maggie loves her bully sticks. If we don't give them to her fast enough, after dinner, she will go and sit at the bookcase where we keep them. lol

Awe - I'm sorry you find them so yucky :) They are Bailey's favorite treat!!

To me, they're not any more discusting than pig ears, pig hooves, deer antlers or even raw hides. They're digestable - so they're safe and that is most important to me.

Hammer loves them. I try not to think what they come from... just think that they make him happy and are safe.

The only problem I have with bullies is that I can't find one that doesn't smell so bad it makes my head hurt. Kaji is obsessed with them, but I don't buy them anymore because when he chews one they clear the room.

Really:confused: you wouldn't let them chew on them because of what they are made of. Do you know what is in hot dogs and people eat them yuck.
