For liquid it just gets squirted in slowly. She prefers that it goes in the middle of her mouth so she can kinda lap it up instead of in her cheek pouch. For pills, I just give with a bite of food. She loves food too much to care whether there is something else in it. But for the pills that shouldn't be given with food, they just get pushed to the very back of her mouth with my finger (or rarely a pill gun).

I have to pretty much hog tie Kasha for liquids. But pills she will take w/o anything masking them. I do usually throw some pnut butter on top so I don't have to force her.

She hates the pill pockets. The vet gave her one, she sniffed and she looked at him like "yea right"

They should make chicken/beef flavored liquid meds.

Try what I do with the liquid. Put it in a little measuring cup and add water or gosh, maybe even chicken stock or something.

Love the chicken stock idea!!! Hopefully wont have to use it soon but it sounds great!

When my little guy was diagnosed with his bacterial infection a couple of weeks ago we came home having to take four different pills twice a day. I thought no way was he going to let me give him these and he didn't disappoint me either. I was the only one home that week so I knew that I had to do it so with several attempts I just kept trying to get his mouth open and putting the pill way to the back of his throat and closing his mouth and rubbing his throat and we did get it acomplished. Now two weeks later and two more weeks of medicine all I do is say Tucker its time for your medicine and he comes to me and knows what we have to do, and we then have to praise him and do the happy dance because he was such a good boy. Maybe even now after all of this he will actually even let me brush his teeth. Good luck to you.

That's what I'm doing... I've to give him 1/8 of the pill from our vet twice a day... 1/8 is tiny so I'll mix it with 1 Cheerio (I break it into tiny pieces). He licks everything clean.

My girl is so good she think she gets a special treat at the begin of each month.

She takes her pills right out of my hand and eats them. Even if she is being picky about her food that morning she will eat her pill. Such a trusting little soul.

Of course now she thinks she should be hand fed her kibble every morning.

Zeus loves his pills with a tiny piece of feta cheese wrapped around it. I think I am raising a junkie now because when ever anyone opens a pill bottle he comes running!

Several weeks ago Cody had colitis and had to take liquid and pills. He licked the liquid out of the syringe (shoved in his mouth). I coated the pills with peanut butter and stuck them in the back of his mouth while I let him lick the peanut butter off my finger he swallowed the pill.

You can use a small tspoon with a little bit of peanut butter. Stick the pill in it and when they open their mouth to lick it just rub the peanut butter behind their front teeth and they just swallow the pill without realizing it is there.

My dog gulps down food so usually I put the pill in cheese or wrap it in turkey and it's gone in an instant! I haven't seen her spit the pill out yet... thankfully she doesn't have to take them often.

For liqiud we use a syringe, and Greenies Pill Pockets for pills.

I like cheese or cream cheese...
If I give it in cream cheese, I put some in my fingers first, so he gets a treat... then I wrap the pill in the cream cheese (make sure it's cold enough so that it is still a little maliable but not sloppy) and then he licks it up in one gulp.

Haven't had to give liquids yet.
