Thanks for the replies everyone, I too use baby wipes :) I think I will just stick to the butt wipes at the mo but once she gets bigger and the hair longer I may have to consider trimming. |
I had the same problem....we trimmed the hair around his booty....we used a trimmer (may have cut a tiny bit too much off) but it worked like a charm!!!!! :) No more poopy butt. I do have another issue though. Has anyone's yorkie eatten his own poop? I didn't know mine did, but he threw it up a bit later after I found a tiny piece of poop on his pad (guessing he ate the rest of it). Ewwww....what can I do????? |
Ya my pup always needs me to wipe his butt! Even if all the poop falls out I always check it and wipe it anyway since he's always on our bed! Twice he ran off the pad and smudged his butt on the carpet and drew a nice "s" in poop! LOL. |

SO now I always watch and pick it up with a tissue and flush it right away. |

Good luck. I prefer the razor over the scissors Harley squirms and I'm more likely to hurt him with scissors, a shaver will only cut hair... |
Just found this post and it answered my question. Thanks! lol Does anyones Yorkie run around in a little circle like a crazy person right before they pooped? Oh and it so cute that short legs of hers when she poops and sticks her butt up....she teeter toters and sometimes balances only on the front paws for a couple of seconds. LOL |
It's ok if you can have somebody hold her and then trim her anal hair it's the best thing for her. From my understanding from the vet if you don't keep it trim it could cause her to be constipated and that worst than having her butt trimmed. I clean my yorkie butt along with her paws after every walk |
