| Probiotics? Does anyone have an educated opinion on probiotic supplements? Neo has allergy issues along with reoccuring yeast in his ears. He is the pickiest dog alive when it comes to food (he won't eat for days sometimes) and I live in fear of pancreatitis. I've been looking online at various sites for probiotics and cannot find anything bad about them other than the cost being somewhat high. What do y'all think about them? |

| Allergies and reoccuring yeast can by symptoms of a bacterial overgrowth which just adding a probiotic alone will not correct. There is definitely something deficient for this to be happening. Sometimes, being a "picky" eater and not eating for days can be a symptom that his belly isn't feeling well. All that being said, we use a daily probiotic. I love the product by askariel.com. Although it isn't cheap, it also isn't cost prohibitive. I give it to both my girls, and you only use 1/2 capsule once a day. You might want to give Susan Davis' site a look around. She has many supplements that help with allergies and yeast overgrowth. Perhaps a consult may be indicated to address his nutritional needs/picky eater as well...... I literally tried everything out there, including the crap brands, just because I wanted him to eat. But every since I have gone to raw, he loves to eat! I was also able to get him to eat Fromm and he liked one of the EVO flavors before I went to raw. Maybe trying different brands or going raw would help with the picky eating? | |

| All my fluffs get probiotics with every homecooked meal........it has really improved their stools and digestive system. I also give a GI TRACT liquid supplement with their breakfast every day.
