I called my vet the other day and he gave me the go ahead to give RR a try as it would not hurt and had worked for others. I've tried 3 times and at first I thought it might have helped but the last 2 times it did nothing. :( So I will be calling him again today to try another alternative that was suggested. I will let you know what is suggested to try next. :) |

i think that maybe you should give it a few tries, the first couple time i gave it to Kobe he would still bark like a mad dog when i left the house. but after giving it to him a least once a day for a week it helped alot. Now i only give it to him when i really think he is going to freak out or if we are going on a longer then usual car trip. |

I have tried the RR since Saturday taken car rides and poor guy is still a mess. We went to the vet today for a nail trim for Dbugs and I brought Bogey along with me gave the RR to him about 45 minutes before we left hoping that it would help him. When we got into the office he was so worked up that he pooped on the floor. :( So after discussing Dbugs and his HUGE nails that grow like crazy~with a smile the vet says~Good nutrition ;) we talked about Bog again. He said that he wasn't surprised that the RR didn't work and that pretty much all of the suppliments are hit or miss. Some dogs it work well for and others it is more trial by error and suggested AnxitaneS. So for $8 we left with a box to give it a try. The link that I just posted says it is $33  but I wanted to post the ingredients and picture of the box for informational purposes. ;) The pills are chewable 50 mg tables that I break in half and give to him twice daily. He said that he has had feedback all over the board from immediately working to not helping at all and that I should finish the package before making a decision. Also, if it works we can purchase the supplement from the healthfood store or on line in the chewable form. I did a little more Googling to see about dosages and it this is not something that you can overdose with. So I am going to give this a try. Between the storms, car rides and walks it is worth a try to see if something that is given daily will help. Wish me luck  |

anything is worth a shot as long as its safe for the dog. have you tried an anxiety wrap? i was gonna get one for morgan but the lady who doesn't custom sizes is still not available. the smallest size they have is still just a tad to big for morgan to get the full effect of the wrap. i may try the thunder wrap instead because i'm impatient. |
Can you let me know how this works for your little one? Bailey is already on a very expensive diet but if this is what my baby needs and it works I will most certainly get it. I just want to be sure that it has worked for others first... Thanks for your help! I'm putting a call into my vet tomorrow too, I'll let you know what he says. Bailey thanks you too! :aimeeyork Quote:

so what exactly is the anxiety wrap anyway? And I need to get Katie's nails trimmed too, but I'm nervous. Last time I asked for them to do it at the vet when she got her staples out. She broke the muzzle. |

Holy moly! She broke the muzzle! Devil Dog...........I mean Pebbles has given the vet trouble and they muzzled her once but even she didn't do that! When you take her in make sure that the tech helping is very secure in holding her. There is one tech at my vet that even the vet doesn't trust to hold dogs. She's the one that let go of Pebs and was almost bit. Now I don't allow her in the room when we go and I have even talked to the vet about it. What does she do with a big dog...........sheeze! |
