What do you mean by no testing? Dr. Bach most certainly tested his remedies and I think that over 70 years is plenty of "testing";)

I would much rather give my dog, and anyone in my family including me that has been used for over 70 years (near 80) and that is natural then a pill from the vet.

These products work for the majority of animals and people. It is made the same exact way, by the family and bottling plant/distributor for over 70 years.

The alcohol is used to make the tinctures and is used as a preservative. It is also the type of alcohol that is used, Brandy is one and grape alcohol. The alcohol in tinctures actually evaporates to a point. and it is not enough alcohol to hurt someone, or make them groggy or for that matter, get drunk..lol

If you were take a gallon of it (tincture) ya might get darn good buzz on, but these are very minute (tiny) amounts your actually getting

For 12 years I have used the products on myself, hubby, son, dogs, etc without any problems and I have terrible allergies. And they work for us.

I agree completely with this statement!!..

Kinda seems silly to have 2 products for the same thing. Motion sickness causes vomiting, and motion sickness IS nausea. Makes me think maybe they want to make more $$. I dunno.. just wondering out loud (sorta..lol)..

But I read all about it on the link you sent and it sounds like a really good product.

I just don't understand why it cannot be used on a dog 16 weeks and younger. Like where did they come up with that exact age? lol.. Would be nice to be able to give it to puppies be flown and such (of course pre-tested on the pup b4 leaving)..

I always LOVE the possible side effects of drugs...... But these are a little concerning to me..

Does CERENIA have any side effects?

Most dogs do very well on CERENIA. But as with all medicines, some dogs may experience side effects. Side effects are rare with CERENIA, but when they do occur, the most common ones are excessive drooling, lethargy, lack of appetite, and diarrhea.

A few dogs may vomit after taking the medicine. Giving CERENIA with a small amount of food will help avoid this. Remember not to wrap the tablets tightly, so they can dissolve properly.

i think the reason not to be given to puppies of that age and i could be totally off base here so others may jump in - is because it affects something in their brain to keep them from reacting to the motion and these pups are still developing so may be why they are against it or could be due to size not sure

the other thing is this has to be given 2 hrs before leaving lollll that is a long time to prepare before getting in the car

Wow 2 hours? lol ..I ended up finding a pdf of the insert, and it said something about a bone marrow issue with pups under 16 weeks.. I didn't really understand it and couldn't find anything about it on the web.

my Puppies almost always get sick when I take them in the car for their first vet checks or when we go to the airport. Makes me feel bad for them..

I used Rescue Remedy on my Bryan last year when we flew to Florida for Thanksgiving. I put 3 drops in his water in the airport and within ten minutes he voluntarily got into his carrier which he neve does and stayed they for then entire flight.....I made his eyes very glassy and he kept licking his lips....don't think i would do that to him again.....

Well you did give him a little to much. It's supposed to be 2 drops and for a tiny dog I would only give 1 drop to start.

Also remember, there is NO alcohol in the pet RR..

Other then Dr Bach himself what studies that this works has been done using double blind and or any other methods and what are those studies by any other DR not vested in selling it.
I never said it caused problems or would cause problems or anything about its content.

Show me those studies I look into it more but I like my stuff to have legs outside folk lore.

The use of homeopathy in veterinary medicine is controversial, as there has been little scientific investigation and current research in the field is not of a high enough standard to provide reliable data.

This does not mean it doesn't work. Same goes for human use.

Well I need facts and as Bio Calm is herbal and tested I will work with that.
What it is made does not cause problems as you can freely double the dose and it will have no ill effects and by the looks of what I read the same can not be said of RR. Once the field after 70 years gets it act together and does testing at high enough standards to provide reliable data then I will look at it again. I truly hope it does not take another 70 years.

Most natural remedies, and herbs and even vitamins are NOT tested. They do not fall under the FDA rules and guidelines. Use whatever you want, I honestly don't care, but there is no need to attack my opinion!

Could you please post the link to the testing done on bio-calm? I looked and looked and found nothing and I would like to learn more about the product.

I don't think it is even carried by vets here in the US is it?

I was not debating nor looking for a fight nor attacking you at all and I am sorry that you took it that way. I was just stating after 70 years be nice to see the leg work on it. I agree we all use what we are comfortable with but the dogs I work with can not risk having stuff not live up to expectations as set back can cause a fatal reaction of them biting and having to be put down.

I would give U of Guelph a call and see if they will release the tests done that to you. Will take a direct call.
