Dr. Amy pulled all 14 of Peppy's teeth at one time. The surgery took slightly over an hour. Usually the vet-tech does the teeth pulling, but Dr. Amy knows how particular I am about Peppy and she did the surgery herself. I don't have the bill in front of me, but it seems like it was around $250 which included the pre-surgery bloodwork to rule out liver and kidney problems.
Because Peppy is so small she only used gas, and as soon as the surgery was finished and they turned off the gas, Peppy was waking up. I dropped him off in the morning on an empty stomach and picked him up about 3 pm with some pain meds. He ate canned food Hills Prescription diet a/d that night and the next day. After that he was back on his Innova EVO kibbles.
Since the surgery, he has gained 1/2 lb. which is huge..... he went from 2 lbs. 12 ounces to 3 lbs. 4 ounces. He still needs to gain another 4 ounces or so to be at an optimum weight. |
