TOO MANY TEETH!!!!HelllllllllP! Argh--HELP! Winston has a new arrival of adult teeth, the problem is that they have grown in behind the baby milkteeth. The top 3 right front teeth are fine (only adult teeth) but the two on the top right have the baby and adult teeth. How should I go about this???? He is very close to 6 months and its about time to get him neutered and I wanted to have the babies removed then, but should I wait until ALL the adult teeth have come in to get the neuter/removal of baby teeth? Is this a big deal? I know its fairly common, but Im worried. Advice please! |
OHHH I want to know too. Cowboy just grew some new teeth the same way!!!! He is 8 months old and it JUST happened...Go Figure!!!!! |
My sweet little Peppy never lost his baby teeth. I waited until Peppy was almost a year old and Dr. Amy pulled 14. Peppy is a wee little one 3 lbs. after dinner!!! It has made a great big huge difference in his appetite. I think the extra teeth had his mouth sore 'cause he sure is eating better since the surgery. GOOD LUCK!! |
Was it expensive?? Was she in pain for a long time? |
You can wait and see if they will fall out on their own and wait on his neutering too! But if they don't you can go ahead and have them pulled, and neutered at the same time! The choice is up to you. Bell was almost a year and her adult teeth came in right behind the baby teeth, then a few months later I saw her acting funny with her tongue and when I looked it was her milk tooth just hanging there. |

I think you should have them done at the same time, If he's not in any pain that is. I would call and make the appointment for him to be neutered, and ask them for advice. :) |
I think you should get his teeth pulled out at the same time when your getting him neutered. It needs to be pulled out because it will not come out. |
Gracie had the same problem with several back teeth, the vet suggested waiting several weeks to spay so he could remove any deciduous teeth while she was under for the spay. With the problems these little ones have with anethesia, it was the right decision. She also had 1 dew claw removed at that time as well (breeder's vet had missed one). I did not want her to have to be put under several times so this worked out great!!!!!!!!! The additional cost for the teeth removal was about 75 dollars the best that I can recollect. |
Will the adult teeth be straight? Thanks you all. That makes me feel better! Ill just wait to get his teeth done and neutered at the same time. Possibly when he is 8 mos. all his new teeth will be in and we can remove the others. I was also wondering if when the baby teeth are removed, can the adult teeth be straight?? |

My vet pulled Chachi and Jewels teeth when they were spayed and neutered at 6 and 7 months old. |
Loki's teeth were not ready to be pulled when he was neutered at 6 months. At 8 months he needed 3 pulled, and by the appt. he had lost one. I would say let them pull what they can at the Neuter and then go back if there are more. Play lots of tug and they may come out. It was not expensive for the teeth - maybe $80? And I think that included a nail trim! |
I called my vet yesterday and they said 8$ per tooth. That isnt bad at all I suppose. |
My Winston had to have 6 baby teeth pulled out on September 20th. They actually had to put him under. :( My poor baby was so out of it when I picked him up in the evening. All his adult teeth are aligned and looks good now. I actually spend about $160 but that included the rest of his shots too. |
