Puppy hair ( grooming ques) :) I just have a simple question...I recently adopted a 6.5mo old baby girl named LOLA...and she is pure Yorkie...Blue & gold. The issue is after bathing her? I have had still some slight matting and I "dont " want to shave her...she has pretty hair and honestly she can be groomed and brushed. I did use some leave in condition ( for infants) on her coat... after her bath that is. And brushed her and got most of her knots out under her legs and arms. Her previous mom didnt seem to really pay attn to her ( assumption). But I am an avid hair comber of my own hair I cannot stand rat heads! LOL~!!!! Whats some tricks and advice for Yorkie grooming........I am going to search the entire forum too , didnt mean to post if there is this topic.:animal36 |
There's a grooming section here: Yorkie Grooming Talk - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community It's best to brush out all the tangles before a bath, otherwise the water makes it tighter. If it's a stubborn mat, I usu snip it once w/a blunt nosed scissor & work it out w/a comb. The high rubbing areas (arm pits) should be shaved to avoid mats, since that area can be sensitive for them. I always use a conditioner after a shampoo & spray their coat w/a conditioning mist before brushing them to avoid hair breakage. |
