I've been following this post since it started. The suspense is agony.
I hope everything turns out ok for the little girl as well as her owner.

It always worries me, when someone doesn't update. All kinds of horrible thoughts go through my head.

Although I think a lot of times people seek out places such as this in a time of crisis and the forget about it once everything is okay because they are not used to posting regularly... I really hope that is the case here and that this baby is all better!

Well it would be about the time for her next heat if we go by her post about this before in August. So if she was actually in heat in August I wouldn't think it was pyometra because it's to long after the last heat cycle. Or I guess she could have had a silent heat 2 months ago, and then yeah it then could be pyometra.

She said it smelled fishy right? Pyometra doesn't smell like that as far as I know, but infected anal glands sure does....

Hopefully she took her to the vet..I pray she did. It does sound like she has been having silent heats though. Definitely should be spayed even if it is not pyometra.

True, but she has posted here before so hopefully she will update us.

The fact that she made the above statement, sent up warning signals to me.

A girl can have closed Pyometritis and have it suddenly burst. And based on what she described above, is what had happened. I've had girls have an infection in their reproductive organs and they emit a fishy smell.

I see where you found she was in heat last August. Her post states a few weeks ago.

But, it appears we won't get answer as she doesn't post frequently and most of the time when she just needs a question answered

I didn't know about the Aug heat. But it wouldn't have mattered, still doesn't IMO.

Leaks of blood and any natsy odors are indicative to the infection. IMO puss may not be visible if blood is present b/c it's harder for some to separate them apart if they're mixed.

I totally missed the part about her being in heat a few weeks ago.. I am getting to many threads mixed up which isn't helping me.:p

I did have a dog recently with closed pyometra and there was no smell at all, as you can see I wasn't sure what the smell would be but from what i had read about it I never saw anything about there being a fishy smell. That is why I said that. I didn't say there was for sure no smell.. I know pus and infections can smell pretty horrid! :(

I don't think she will be back though.. Would really love to know how the dog is though...sigh..

Yeah I see that her post NOW says she went in a few weeks ago. I swear I saw her say the dog never has bled before so she never knew when she was in heat.. So that is why I looked up her postings and found that other one from August.. I knew I had seen it before..

Well in the context that I was writing, it indeed did matter. Pus is a mixture of blood (plasma) and can look to some like just blood but a lighter color.

I said it wouldn't have mattered b/c I saw a couple of weeks. So it wouldn't have mattered if she was in season in Aug as well. Agree?

I hope she gives us the news soon! I hate for one to suffer.

Unfortunately Yes. If we went back in time I'd say the same thing. Most things can wait. This isn't one. I knew other questions to ask but what for? To share with us while she may be dying? She may be okay without vet care. That's rolling dice but don't roll as a caretaker or person that gives advice.

Yeah no doubt!! And when she said vomited blood my eyes got big, then as I read further she wasn't sure where the blood actually came from. Of course after Mindy my first thought was pyometra.

It is just driving me a little loony wondering how she is and if she got her to the vet. I don't want to unsub from the thread in case she updates us..

What is wrong usualy my yorkie is hyper today she been moaning and laying arnd bleeding everywhere first dogs so i dnt kno if ita frim her but ir her vagina and i dnt kno the difference she been throwing up like foam spit also and her boo boo is wet

I agree. Excessive bleeding is not a good sign. Please let us know how you make out....
