Have you tried any of the other formulas? |

They gave us all the formulas to try, which is great! We usually use cheese if they have a pill to take. I don't think it has much in it either. |
Boy I certainly can relate to your dilemma. I've been there done that. We started with Natures Variety chicken and the dogs liked it ok but then started being very finicky and I was throwing away more then they were eating. So we tried taste of the wild and the kibble is larger and they didn't like it after a few days. Then went to evo small bites chicken or red meat, I'd mix it up. ( I also used natures variety or evo wet adding about a teaspoon into the dry)Then Madison started gaining weight. Now we are eating the primal raw. They love it. I mean lick the bowl clean love it! I also ordered some acana prairie but haven't gotten it yet. I'm happy with the primal. Madison seems to be losing weight as I had to tighten her harness a bit. Lexie my maltese has had to have some teeth pulled and one of the benefits of primal raw is good clean teeth. ( so others say) I'm all for that if it helps with clean teeth and less dental issues. Of course its to early to tell its only our first week on the raw diet. I think for any of us, the issue is finding what works for you and your dogs. Although I appreciate all opinions and recommendations when it comes down to it if the dogs won't eat it what good is it. I did have a man at the feed store tell me that the more you change the more picky they become. I'm not sure I buy into that but thats what he said. Little dogs are know to be finicky. Thats why they're our little prince and princesses. Good Luck on your search. for me I just want a healthy dog at the right weight... |

Sorry, I just saw your question. Tucker has a normal activity level, Lexee is more laid back and likes to chill the majority of the day. However when I tried them with EVO and Acana, they got lazy, neither of them got off the couch much, it was odd cause I was expecting them to be more active from what I have read on here with the higher protein foods. Tucker started having gas issues, throwing up several times a day, no interest in food. At first I thought it was because he was just feeling off, but when I put him back on the Acana he started acting sick again. I also wanted to mention that even my beagle who has a pretty decent activity level didnt not do well on the EVO or Acana either, she was bloated and just uncomfortable for the time she on it and it ruined her coat. Where the black is on her back its all reddish, brittle and nasty. Im in the process of trying to get her coat back to healthy. I get that not all foods are right for dogs, but every higher quality, higher protein food we tried either made my dogs ill, look bad or they just wouldnt eat it. It seems like the more money I paid for the food, the crappier my dogs looked and felt. :( I have 4 dogs, 4 different sizes, 4 different ages.. and NOT ONE could eat the high protein foods. As I stated in a early post on this thread, after trying MANY different foods and companies, I have settled on Lifes Abundance for now. They have only been on it for about 2 weeks and Ive seen a huge change in thier behaviors since. 3 of them are eating the food and they all have had so much more energy, Lexee actually runs around and plays with Tucker now. ;) |

Maximo can eat anything, but Teddy had loose stools after eating only a few of the Surf n Turf kibbles. Tell your kids, no more "fun"! Everyone needs to be healthy and predictable. |
What should you feed a Yorkie who has been diagnosed with colitis??? |

After reading all of these I am so torn! Right now I feed NutriSource and you know the saying "don't fix it if it's not broken", well she eats great on this but I am searching for something better. Yesterday I recieved a sample of Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul and she LOVED it. But then there is the ingredient... Oh I forget what it is, but it can cause liver issues down the road, so I don't know if I should get her on this. I'm really considering the following: Acana Now! Wellness Blue Buffalo - Which I can get locally, so that's nice FROMM Nutro I'm sure all of these are great. I don't want to have to switch around all the time so I'm hoping to find one that I can buy forever... |

Jackson is very picky. The first food we found that he loved (he was maybe 8-9 months old when we finally found it) was Nature's Variety Instinct. He really loved it and did well on it, but he seemed to gain a bit of weight on it. I still recommend the food and like it, the kibbles are really small so good for the little ones. My boy is 16lbs though. Fromm kibbles are even tinier and that was the only complaint... it seemed like Jackson just swallowed them, lol. He also got really bad eye boogers on this food, it must have been a specific ingredient in it that bothered him. Again, highly recommend food though! Jackson is currently eating Acana Grasslands and Go! Endurance (Go! is made by the same company as Now!) We rotate bags. Acana is our favorite kibble I think as of now! I've read lots of stories about dogs doing amazing on Acana. |
6 months on acana prairie now along with our primal raw. Although they only eat a tablespoon of acana at each meal, I have only noticed wonderful benefits, like no eye goop, clean tartar free teeth, gorgeous coats, high energy, playful dispositions. What more could I ask for. I know this may not be for everybody but I'm happy that it works for us. The main benefit is EVERY meal they literally run to their bowls and the gobble down their food. No more feeding the trashcan! This momma is happy. :D |
Got a sample of chicken soup and she gobbled it up, got a bag of blue buffalo and she liked that as well. Yesterday got a sample of wellness and she liked that a lot too. How does a person decide?? |
