WHAT are you feeding your pups these days? Wondering what everyone is feeding these days. :confused: A poll has not been done since Fall 2009. I would do a poll but by looking at the last one it does not offer enough choices for the wide variety of opinions/ food choices we all feed. Mickey is being super picky right now. One day he loves Nature's Variety Prairie Lamb the next day he won't touch it. Same goes for Acana Grasslands and Pacifica and Innova (green bag regular chicken) Small Bites. Today Mickey ate the Innova Small Bites. Max will eat any of the above-LOL What are you feeding...Brand and type please. :) Thanks!!:) |
We recently switched to Blue Buffalo small breed...good results so far. |
I've had Harley on Blue Buffalo small breed formula for about 2 months now. It's great and she loves it! It's also very healthy from what I've researched. I've noticed an improvement in her energy level, stool, & coat. |
I feed only Life's Abundance. Have tried others, but they like this the best and its so healthy. Plus I like that their poo's stay hard and do not smell :p and their coats are so shiny and silky. |
I feed Sophie Merrick's and change the flavors when she finishes a bag. I have also started putting a little of there Before Grain canned food as a treat. She likes it and is doing well with it. |

California Natural Lamb and Rice Small Bites. I would prefer something better but my kiddos have MVD and need something with pretty low protein so this is the best we can do. |

I am feeding Natures Variety rotation for the gang and for Prada, wellness simple. |
I feed EVO, Instinct, and Wellness on rotation. |
I was using Wellness but their stools were super soft and smelled something fierce. We switched to Natural Balance sweet potato & fish and WOW what a difference. The stools are now firm and actually a lot less smelly. |

I have just started feeding my girls Orijen 6 fish and they love it. |
I cook for Cerise. I love to cook and have several cookbooks catering to dogs. She is loving it so far and has not spit up from eating or had any poop problems. |
Nature's Variety Prairie Kibble, all five "flavors." With 2 dogs, we go through a small bag in about 17 days, and switch off to a new flavor with each new bag. It's sort of amusing to see them get excited when a new bag is opened. They all smell the same to me, but they sure can tell the difference. |

Jackson is currently eating Fromm Surf n' Turf. I think our next bag we're going to try is Acana Grasslands or Praire. He liked the sample we got of the Acana so I may switch back and forth between the two. :) He also likes Nature's Variety Instinct. |
Tatum is currently doing well on Wellness Core. I've been wondering about Natural Balance though. Any thoughts on that one? |
Geeesh, I am sooooo confused :rolleyes: I am trying to figure out what to switch Zoey to. I believe her tummy is quite sensitive and I also do not want too high in protein. Am thinking about Artemis Fresh Mix Small Breed Adult Formula . Has anyone tried this? |
I use a rotation of Innova EVO, Orijen and Acana. I'm also thinking about adding Blue Buffalo Wilderness to the rotation as they just made their formula grain-free. |
ok i'm new to yorkies just got my bella a few months ago. We bought Iams puppy for her at first but switched to eukanuba puppy (heard it was better for her hair) I havent even heard of the stuff you all posted. is what I'm feeding her not good? Should I buy something else? please help a newbi. I want bella to be happy and healthy! |

This is the best for Jacks sensitive tummy, low protein they do not need a high pro diet they are not working dogs we used to have Beagles, they do not spend much time outdoors in the cold just to go out to pee and poop. spend most of time hanging out on laps and playing with toys. I Have tried others this has been the Nutro, Lifes Abundance, Merrick, Innova etc... |

I feed Merrick and always have two bowls down all the time one is always the campfire trout and I switch up between the granny's pot pie and the turducken. |
This post/thread has been really useful to me. I'm a first time dog/Yorkie owner and I have started my pup on Beneful, but apparently that is a low quality food - now I know why my Chi-Chi has been kind of so-so with eating it. I thought she was having trouble transitioning from what the breeders were feeding her. I think I will try the California Natural Lamb & Rice Puppy. She loves PureBites treats, I was hoping that they sold dog food, but they don't. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that she takes to California Natural. :) |
