feeding dog I feed Belle Pedigree small bites for lap dogs, I don't like to feed her that but that's what she eats our of her "brothers" dish (only not the small bites). They took some of the red coloring out of it but I still think it causes eye stains. We have tried a few others but miss picky won't even sniff them. I also give her canned Ultra but I am trying to find something else. I spilled some of the gravy part of the Ultra on the counter and when I wiped it up, I couldn't believe how orange the dish cloth got and it doesn't come out! The only thing with canned is Belle won't eat the stuff that is all ground up, she likes chunks. I dread feeding time as sometimes she eats and sometimes I have to feed her with a fork (I know, she's spoiled). Any suggestions would be very welcome, I just get more frustrated every day. Have thought about buying frozen chicken breasts and cooking them up to feed her with some vegs. Probably won;t eat that either. Help!!:( |
Dog Food.. My Tango likes AvoDerm Natural. I tried Blue Buffalo he did'nt take to it so well.:animal36 |
I feed mine Natures Recipe lamb & rice and the canned also. So far so good:) |
Snickers has been thriving on the same rotation for awhile now. He eats Primal Raw in the morning (which he jumps up and down for) and Acana kibble in the PM (Grasslands or Prairie.) If he eats poultry raw I feed him Acana Prairie which is poultry based. If he eats red meat raw, I feed him Acana Grasslands which is lamb based. Yesterday my husband commented on how sweet Snick smells. I owe it all to the raw, after we switched he no longer has the "doggy" smell, no more matting coat, a beautiful soft coat, GORGEOUS teeth, and a love to eat! Chrissy--I usually do the poll once every 4-5 months but I know what you mean about the small array of options/choices etc. Hugs- Snick and Viv |

I enjoy reading and getting ideas on what to feed my guys. I'm an obsessive mommy-LOL Like you said it only allows a small number of choices. That stinks because people here feed so many different brands and then even different types in that brand. |
Those of you who switch/rotate their food - do you slowly incorporate the change? What if it is the same brand but different flavor, is there a reintroduction you go through? Also, I notice that alot of these brands do not have smaller morsels for the yorkie's - I was 'assuming' that this was needed to prevent any potential choking. Am I wrong with this? Some, not all of the brands being fed are very high in protein levels - what are your feelings on this? Thanks! |
Bella is on NB venision/sweet potato & duck/potato. Sometimes, I will feed Solid Gold (which she really seems to like). Also, Wellness small bites. Really want to try the Blue Buffalo. I didn't see it @Petco. Does Petco or Petsmart sell it?? She really gets bored with just one type kibble. |
I have seen Blue Buffalo at both Petco & Petsmart |
I switched to Blue Buffalo and so far so good. RJ didn't take to it as well as I thought he would. My only complaint is that RJ's breath stinks horribly. I'm not sure if it's the Blue Buffalo but I think I will continue to look for the perfect puppy food. |
Right Now Polo is eating Orijen Red regional and lovin it. I normally rotate between Acana and Orijen so he doesn't get bored of his food! |
We are doing Artemis kibble and BARF raw patties. My vet said that the crude protein in Acana was too high. Artemis is 23%. |
