| Need help please!!! Hi my name is Tamika and I have recently become Mommy to Kiley born 07-09-08.Kileys previous owners treated Kiley as an acessory rather than a responsible dog owner.Kiley has no training what so ever and has some aggression issues but has responded positively to training.More importantly however is Kileys poor diet.Kiley was fed any and everything her owners ate.I however want Kiley healthy and happy. So I turn to all of you great Mommys and daddys for help. What do I feed Kiley and How much of it do I feed to her.I bought a bag of science diet but she turns up her nose from it.I have been giving her two teaspoons of plain yogurt in the morning. In the evening I boil down chicken and add baby food pureed meat to soften it a bit.I keep her dish full of water as well.I am trying my best...please remember I took her last minute and was in no way prepared.I love her very much already and just want to provide her a healthy long lasting life of happiness here with her new family. Also any supplements, vitamins, etc you can reccomend are also appreciated.Thank you in advance. Love Tamika and Kiley |

| Science Diet is not the best, but if that all you have I would sprinkle some parm. cheese on it or cottage cheese and you could add some chicken broth as well. Congrats on your baby

| Awww, congratulations on your new baby. Sounds like she is in a very good home with a very loving mommy. You can check out the diet forum and read up on food. There is a wide variety of opinions on food here. I am lucky that I finally found something that my 2 will eat consistently. I feel Natural Balance Food Rolls. It comes in a big long roll and you can either shave it down or cut it up-which is what I do. My babies are 4 1/2 and 5 lbs, they get a 1/4 cup each in the morning and evening. I also have to bribe them at times so I wil put some shredded turkey, cheese or something to get them to start eating. lol Once they start, they usually will eat. As for treats, I like to give them veggies, some par boil in the nuke just to soften them a little. Please learn what can be toxic for your dog. I was very surprised. Onions, raisins, grapes, mushrooms, apple seeds and avocado are big no no's. Since your are using pureed baby food, just make sure there is no onion powder in it. You can also try adding some boiled egg and mushing it up in her food, maybe that will entice her as well. or mashed up sweet potato, carrots, green beans, peas. Plain yogurt is good too, it will help her tummy as well. As for vitamins and supplements, my suggestion (and others will probably know a bit more) I would take your baby to a good vet who knows about little dogs, and take with them about that. There is so much that is out there, it is best, in my opinion, to start with a good base knowledge that the vet can give you. Good luck and welcome to YT. would love to see pictures of your little Kiley.

| Your baby was used to human food and it will be hard to break her. But you can start by mixing wet dog food with her kibbles. When there hungry they will eat, I promise. If you feed Kiley the right dog food you won't need supplements. My choice of dog food is Merrick but there's allot of good brands and there normally not found in Petco or Petsmart.

| Firstly welcome to YT, and secondly congratulations on the new baby. Also, I commend you for wanting to do the healthy thing for your baby. Training takes time but it sounds like your are truly committed. I use Evo and it has worked well for mine, however there are plenty of other excellent food sources that can be used, such as the raw diet. I am sure you will receive **tons** of responses, so look through and see what might work for you and your little one. And best of luck,,, we would love to see some pics! |

| Thank You Kindly!! Thank you so much for the warm welcomes and great info. Im so happy Kiley is a part of my family You have no idea how helpfull this site has been to me.While Kileys owners feel they have "spoiled" her...I beg to differ.Kiley was used to "show off" because of her cost and was treated irresponsibly. So I am very dedicated to her and her well being.I welcome any information you may find vital. Also please feel free to post any info on your own babies.Im so interested in learning how other Yorkies spend their days : ) They are all so very cute!!!!!!!!! |
