| ![]() I just recently got a Yorkie from someone who could no longer care for her. I started to notice that some of her baby teeth have not fell out yet, and she has 8 canine teeth. She will be a year old in May. I have scheduled her to have surgery Friday. I am not getting her spayed! I am just kinda scared and worried about this procedure since reading these animals dont take well to anesthesia. Does anyone know the risks this surgery entails? Someone please help and let me know before Friday April 2nd THANK YOU! ![]() |

| ![]() Hi Chelsea my yorkie had two baby teeth removed the day she was spayed and she was fine she did get sick once when she came home but the vet said its normal its just from the anesthesia, just make sure you give her soft food for a couple of days as dry food willl be too hard to chew and you might notice they wont really want to play with chew toys for a couple of days. you have nothing to worry about its very common for yorkies to need baby teeth taken out hope al goes well |

In my case I have chosen not to spay her just yet so it's more of a concern, but if you can have the vet check while your puppies are under anasthetic it's better. Remember, every time you have to put them under anasthetic it's a danger to them because of the size of their hearts etc and anasthetic is risky in any situation so rather avoid having it done twice and get the vet to do the extractions while spaying etc.
