| He ate cheese! Reesie got hold of a piece of cheese that fell on the floor. We could not get to him in time. He saw us coming and I think he swallowed it whole. It was almost a whole stick of string cheese! Do you think he will be okay? I read somewhere that they should not have dairy.

| Cheese is ok for them to eat. I wouldn't give too much but it's ok. Watch for constipation since he ate the whole string. I give Buddy cheese in his bone every Fri night. I stuff a piece of 2% yellow american cheese into one of his shin bones. It takes him about 1/2 hr to lick it out while I eat pizza in peace. Also cottage cheese, in small amouts is also a good and healthy treat. Last edited by ARCHIE; 12-17-2009 at 12:37 PM. |

| I agree, there's no need to worry. A lot of dogs are lactose intolerant but Reesie will be fine - just maybe an upset tummy for a bit.

| No worries - I use bits of cheese sometimes to give Jackson as trick training treats! Nothing has happened thus far.

| We give Chase string cheese as a treat occasionally. He LOVES it. Of course, it's only little bits at a time, but I think your little one will live. He hit the jackpot that day !

| Thanks everyone for your replies! I just started to freak out a little cause I thought they were not suppose to eat dairy.

| Low fat string cheese is great! But once we gave her too much and she had soft poopies. I rotate bits of cheese, cottage cheese, and greek yogurt each day, but just a bit. She makes the cutest "snorky" noises when she eats it! Any one else's baby do this? I love it! She does it when she eats her Wellness really fast too, that's how I know she loves her food!

| cheese please... Harper LOVES cheese! The minute he hears the refrigerator door open and the drawer being pulled out, he comes a running. I usually give him a little shredded cheese, that way it is just a little bit for him to enjoy. * I also use it when I am struggling with him taking medicine.
