2 Attachment(s) I took two photos, but it's almost impossible to see due to her hair. And call me crazy, but I think it's getting smaller. Dame, I will PM you --- but do you think the abscess could drain into her and cause septic shock? I have been really panicked since I read that last night. I'm going to try the compress and see if that helps. Thanks for all your help and inputs, guys. |
1 Attachment(s) OH MAN --- it looks JUST like this photo I found on Drs. Foster and Smith. This is the exact placement of the lump. Maybe that means she has swollen lymph nodes due to infection or <gulp> cancer. Lymphadenitis, Lymphadenopathy & Swollen Lymph Nodes in Dogs |
Update! Update: Well, Meg's lump has gone down significantly. A woman at Doggie Playgroup looked at it today and immediately thought it was a lymph node thing. She has years of experience with dogs, so she might know what she's talking about. Anyway, Meg's vet appt is tomorrow afternoon, so I'll give you all an update then. (The lump is still there, but very small.) |
Update! UPDATE! Well, Dame hit the nail on the head (she PM'd me and mentioned lymph nodes). The vet confirmed today that her left lymph node is a little swollen. It has gone down A LOT but it still a tiny bit swollen. The vet couldn't say it if was bacterial or not and she wanted to give Meg antibiotics, but I said no. The infection is already nearly gone (due to the size reduction) and I don't want to give Meg antibiotics if she doesn't really need them. I swear, the vet here passes antibiotics out like candy or dog biscuits or something. Anyway, I will go back in a couple days if the swelling isn't completely gone, but... yay! I'm so relieved that it was nothing more serious. THanks for all your help, guys!!! |

I know I panicked when I saw the lump on Chip. It was HUGE! I was scared of cancer or something, but I was confused because he was only like 8 months old or something. I rushed him to the vet and they told me his was most likely from a vaccine, but sent it to the lab for testing just in case it was something else. |
Yah, it was really scary to find a lump on Meg... the vet told me that swollen lymph nodes seem so pronounced on Yorkies jsut because they are so small. So it wasn't even too swollen or a real problem, it just looked it becuase she is so small (5 lbs). |
Im happy to hear it wasnt something more serious! |
Good news is just what I wanted to hear. |
