That's a lot for a little pup- -you call the vet and get a pain killer or give them a little children's benedryl....but, I don't like the drugs, so I heat up some rice in an old tube sock and heat it in the microwave--then tuck the puppy in her bed with her little heating pad--and let her sleep! |
your post is confusing to me. what vaccines exactly did he get? just the distemper? the dewormer shouldn't have any negative effects on him. with any vaccine the most common side effect is lethargy so you can expect him to be tired the rest of the day. also some get a sore spot at the injection site. these things should resolve by tomorrow. he just needs to sleep it off. |
The distemper can make them a little lethargic and sore. If you think it is more than that then I would take him to a ER vet. Also, I always seperate my girls rabies and distemper by 2 weeks so they don't get overloaded. I also don't give mine the lepto part of the distemper shot (dhLp) since it is the one most likely to cause a reaction. Since lepto isn't a problem in my area and my girls aren't out much. I hope Coby feels better soon. |
ok heres what he had in the luv my puppy pack 6 in 1 $19.00 this includes distemper, hepatits parvovirus parainfluenza leptospirosis then he had dewormer, hookworm for 14 dollers |

You know your baby best. Go on instinct and don't take chances , get your baby to the vet or at least make a call. |

Agree, that you should call a vet to discuss his reaction. |
when Coral was tiny and she got her shots, she was very sore. she kinda layed around and wouldnt walk because her legs were sore. it took her a day or two to be back to herself. |
well today i ask them too weigh him however the lady had a regular scale and she stood on it with coby and said he's 3 lbs i dont believe this is accurate? he was just 1.72 on 9-08-2009 and also she stood on it i thouight i read on here its not always accurate, when you stand on the scal digital scales would be best for small yorkies accurate weight? |
also he's up now walking around i called my vet she said give him some time the fact this is my first time seeing how he reacts too vaccinations it would be a good time too see how he reacts als longs as he eats and moves around he's ok and take him in to a clinic if he gets worst which she dosnt believe he will.. it's just its my first time seeing him have vaccination,,, so i will get too know how he reacts too them for the future |
