Here is my experience.... Had insurance for Millie, it didnt cover the complications of the spay, but I got the purchase price back when she died. I hadnt gotten round to sorting it for Toby. He has been diagnosed with Legg Perthes. What I have paid the vets already was more than the annual insurance premium, and he hasnt even had the surgery yet. He will need hydrotherapy to build up the muscle again at $160 per month, and Cosequin for the forseeable future at $40 per month. This is now a pre existing condition and will not be covered. Maybe I have just had bad luck, but I would recommend insurance, and ASAP. |
Jersey Boy, did you end up getting insurance. I am so hoping you did. |

Oh thank goodness., I just saw the other thread that Jersey Boy had broken his leg, and then I saw this one. What insurance plan did you go with if you don't mind sharing. I went with PetPlan. I don't think is covers routine stuff, but I got it for the big stuff (like this:() Poor baby, I hope he heals fast. |
I got VPI, we'll see how it works I am so glad I got it!!! |

I am now a believer in Pet insurance hopefully I won't need it again but it gives me piece of mind:) |
I wished I had insurance prior to my puppies injuries. She had a fractured elbow and had to get screw and a pin put in. $3,500 later, I am still not finished with checkups. They had to remove the pin, another $250.00. Im hoping the screw will not bother her in the future. Now Im having issues with potty training her. Shes 5 months and does her stuff everywhere. I ahve insurance now but a few weeks too late |
