LOL I also posted a question about TOTW a few days ago and got no hits either...I was wondering if anyone experiences soft poopy with it.. I posted the following to your thread in the other forum, but I'll put it here too.;) I am feeding this to my 2 year old, Maddie and started our new puppy on it when we rescued her at about 16 weeks. She has done fine on it except having some soft poopy. I did find this which may help answer your question: Picking the Right Food for Your Puppy A diet labeled for "all life stages" will also provide sufficient nutrients, but because it is closer to a maintenance level, your puppy will have to eat more "All Stages" than puppy formula. From three weeks of age up to 20 weeks, your puppy's growth rate is astronomical, and his food intake must keep up. During this period, medium-sized dogs, such as pointers and setters, require approximately 3 1/2 lbs. of dry food to put on one pound of body weight. Large breeds require slightly less, smaller breeds a little more. |
thanks to everyone for the reply's!!! We only had soft poops for about the first week but only off and on and since then we can go the other way.....actually very very firm and give them a few bites of other fiber such as apple, or pumpkin etc. I love how TOTW has totally changed our skin issues, but also there poop size...I know what a gross thing to say, but it is soooo much smaller, firmer, and they both go poop twice a day like clock work when the are eating this food. |

RE: Is Taste of the Wild Ok for Puppies... Hi folks! Great Thread. I work for PetFoodDirect as the Product Specialist. I just wanted to let you know that yes, TOTW is recommended for all life stages and the kibble size is small enough that your babies should do fine with it. I enjoyed some of your comments about your vets only recommending SD. It's a shame, but out of 8 years of veterinary schooling, most vets are only required to take 1 semester of small animal nutrition and many do not take the time to familiarize themselves with all the other great options in pet food. Grain free diets are really the hottest thing in pet food lately and TOTW is one of our top products. It is available in 5 lb, 15 lb, and 30 lb bags to fit the needs of single pet owners or those with many mouths to feed. Feel free to use this coupon FBPET02 at checkout to save 15% on your first order if you want to check it out.
