| Okay to eat rabbit poop? I started letting Gus have the run of our fenced back yard after almost a year. I thought he was over eating all kinds of crap off the ground. The other day I saw him eating off the ground, & I assumed it was berries that had dropped from one of the trees. I figured he'd lose interest quickly, but when it became an obsession, I focused on what he was eating. It appears to be rabbit poop. It's ubiquitous. Do you think rabbit poop is okay to eat, i.e., for a Yorkie?

| I don't know about wild rabbits... I know they would prolly have coccidia or something like that.. I would def go get a fecal sample done at your vet to make sure they didnt catch anything

| I don't think any kind of poop should be eaten by dogs. Especially dogs who like to lick my face. Both of mine eat rabbit poop and it drives me nuts. I can't watch them all the time and the area we are in is overflowing with rabbits. Yuck.

| We live in the middle of town and surprisingly the neighborhood is overrun with wild rabbits, including our yard. Baxter thinks they are candy. (the poops, not the rabbits) I stop him when I catch him, but he does love 'em. So, far the girls haven't picked up the habit. I find it concerning because I assume whatever diseases the rabbits carry are passed through their feces. We have had a couple of bats and racoons test positive for rabies so far this season. Even though everyone has had their shots...I don't feel the need to test its efficacy.
