Help ! ! ! Okay I thought that I was going to start Chewie on Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance since it was rated 122 on the sticky . However, I just went to the dog food reviews website and was rated 4/6. The cons was that it had "Insuffient Meat Content" So what's a girl to do?! Wellness got 5/6 but I am just wondering, are bites small enough for my chewie? I chose natural balance because they came in small bites for small breeds. HELP ! ! ! I need advice to choose the right food for my little guy. Thanks in advance Chewie's Mom

| Ignore the charts and do research. Those sites and chart can be accurate at times, but they are based on opinion. NB does not contain as much meat or protein as some other foods. Does that make it bad? No. However, for those who want a food higher in protein, it may not be a good choice. Wellness works well for some dogs and for others it seems to cause GI upset. Sooooo, different foods for different dogs...

I feed Natural Balance and mine are doing well on it. I have a 10 month old and a 12 week old. I needed something they could both eat from the same bowl. They both are on NB Ultra Premium and are doing good. I tried Wellness puppy but mine didn't like the taste. Wellness has a small breed formula but its not an All Life Stages so they say its not good for puppies - I'm not sure how old your little guy is. Both brands are really good about providing samples. Wellness sent me samples via mail and I was able to get NB samples at a local feed store. Mine also really liked Innova. They offer samples as well.

I just saw you are from Canton - my husband is from Dearborn. We come up there several times a year to visit his family. Too bad we aren't planning a trip - I have TONS of samples left over that I could give you. Anyway, good luck in your food search!

Thank you! Thank you so much for your reply. Chewie is my first yorkie. He may or may not like it, but I just wanted to know that others have their yorkies on it and they are doing fine. I guess I should have just posted to see how many on yt use natural balance. So your husband is familiar with good old dearborn? Well maybe we can plan a play date for the furballs (if they come with you) the next time you come for a visit.
