Super anxious mommy here!! Sadie went to the vet today for her second set of shots. They are doing her four way DHPP today...as well as a three way for Corona, Lyme (we have LOTS of ticks) and lepto. Also i think another giardia and her intranasal bordetella. that's A LOT of vaccinations for one day...i asked about slitting them up and they said they could, but DH talked me into trusting the vets to do them as scheduled. i let it go, but this has been the longest day of my life...she's still there because we have to do a drop-off and they watch puppies for over an hour after vaccinations to make sure they react okay to them. i hate waiting to see her or to make sure she's okay....it's making me so anxious and i'm really really nervous that i let them do so many shots today...i wish i wouldn't have now!!! Please pray for Sadie that she'll take them well and that i'll feel better about the situation....:( and as much as you might want to say something to scare me or make me feel more nervous about a situation you had where too many vaccines made a baby sick...please refrain and give positive encouragement because it's already been done for this time and i don't need to feel worse about it.... Thanks |
Got her finally she's finally back home!! i took her in at 9am and just got her at 4pm finally...stupid vets, and the lady vet wasn't the one i want to go to, but Dr. Lowry isn't always available on weekends darn him...so this vet the girl told me she doesn't approve of my raw diet for my dog...TOO DARN BAD!! i even showed her the breakdown of nutrients and she had no idea what she was looking at...ummm did u fail the nutrition portion of your education??? come on lady. |
Glad she is home and OK!! :) |

Glad she is home and doing good.Next set of shots I would not do all in one day:p |
Glad she is ok. I do agree with other posters, next time I wouldn't have them all done at once. You just never know with these guys! |
Glad she is home and doing fine!!! |
Glad she is doing well. I would not recommend at all that you get all those shots in one day, wow. And the Corona and Lepto should almost never be given, period. They're almost never necessary and can cause reactions. When you get Rabies, do not get any other shots done on that day. |

Rachel, I know you read all the warnings about giving multiple shots at the same time even before you got Sadie, so next time don't let your husband talk you into something you are more educated about. And as far as the vet goes .... are you taking Sadie to Banfield by any chance? They are notorious for over vaccinating dogs. :thumbdown |

Im surprised a vet would even do so many in one day, I have never had my babies done all at once, and to have to leave her there all day :( I would not agree to that ever,,Mine have always had there shots spread apart, Im gald she is home and all went well for her and you :) Next time as others have suggested please have them done seperate ;) Maybe a new vet would be in your best interest as well.. |
