what food do you feed your yorkie? I am thinking of starting my babies on the Taste of the Wild line of food. I was feeding Chicken Soup line which worked great and they loved it but I thought maybe grain free would be better?? What do you guys think of taste of the wild and what do you feed your babies? Thanks!!:animal36 |
I feed Life's Abundance. Its a premium health food. There is info in my siggy about it. We love it! |
We do homecooked :) |
Primal raw and we luv it!! |
I feed Tinky Natural Balance Premium for Adults and Puppies, She loves it! :) naturalbalance.org |
When I first got Addie, she was on Royal Canin. I switched her to Wellness for pups shortly after. When she turned one, I switched to Evo. She was fine with that for quite a while, but she started having diarrhea regularly. Now she's on Orijen, and I have to say this is definitely my favourite. Addie's doing great on it. It's a Canadian dog food company, and the one I use has all different types of fish. The fish is not frozen before use, so it's all very fresh. In fact, the food smells a lot like fish, but it's not a horrible aroma that spreads throughout the house. One thing to note: I've read that it's not really recommended to feed pups (under one) a no-grain diet. Perhaps someone can say whether this is actually true or not? |
I feed Merricks, Grammies pot pie kibbles and top with wellness canned.. |
Roscoe has been eating Taste of the Wild for the past 3 months since he was about 9 months old. I have been very happy with it. His coat is very shiny, no eye boogers, (can't say the same for my puppy that we got a week ago and is eating the Chicken Soup brand). I am very happy with it all around. |
Jackson has been on Innova (regular adult Innova) for a few months now and does well on it, however I just purchased a bag of Taste of the Wild a week ago and he LOVES it! |
Mine all eat Wellness, and love it! |
My Izzy is on a special diet due to her SIBO/Pancreatitis, however, we have a new guy in the house, Cosmo. He is my hoover..lol. He is on 1 medallion NV a day plus I also give him kibble. He was on the NV Instinct but the one he was on was way to high in protein for him but they have a Venison Meal and Millet Medley with only 25% protein so I may try that. In the meantime I got him the Taste of the Wild but only the Pacific Stream blend and he LOVES it. That has 25% protein and 15% fat but what I love about this blend is that is has the Omega 6 and 3 fatty acids that are good for skin and coat. I don't think you can go wrong with TOTW. I also saw it many times listed on one of the top dog foods to feed if feeding kibble. Only reason I did not choose Orijen which is also a top food is because of the high protein and even though I've read protein is not an issue it was for Cosmo..he was drinking way too much water and peeing so much and since he is a puppy in potty training I wanted to lower that. I may try Orijen down the road when he gets bigger and he knows to go outside potty better. |
I've been feeding my 3 Taste of the Wild for probably 8 mths now, I am very happy with it:animal-pa |
I feed raw - Primal right now. :) |
Assorted "flavors" of Natural Balance dry and Merrick canned. Change of pace would be brown rice w/either white chicken or good quality ground. No complaints:D. |
Homecooked (fish, oatmeal and sweet potato) |
Switched to raw about 2 months ago. Northwest Naturals. They LOVE it. |
I have heard of Taste of the Wild but havent heard anything about whether its good or not. I feed my babies the Lifes Abundance! It is a wonderful food and Gizmo absolutley loves it!!! My siggy has a link for it if you wanna check it out! |

My little boys get Primal raw as well. They loooooove the lamb. My lab is on TOTW and has been for the last year. It's the bison/venison/elk formula. He has horrendous food and environmental allergies but has done really well on it. |

Max is eatting Innova Small Bites (not EVO). It is the green bag with the Yorkie on it. |
I feed mine Orijen, (puppy/all breeds). Callie loves it. No eye boogers and no problems with her stool....shiny coat too. However, I have to drive a long way to get it (2 hours). It is not as easy to find as Tast of the Wild. I fed mine that for awhile and it was fine, but she is extremely tiny and I was trying to find a smaller kibble and something with lotsa protein for her, so I switched. Both Orijen and TOTW get good ratings. And TOTW is available at all Tractor Supply stores. |
I feed Bunny and Muffin, Wellness Super 5 Mix Small Breed Adult and I mix in the Ceasar's wet food that has the little filets. |
