Update! Here is an update. Sebastian is do so well...Sunday evening Bastin passed something long in his now firm poop. I wont give the details but I took a look at it and it was like paper of some sort. It looked like a "toilet paper" holder type. I am thinking, it was NOT pancreatitis after all!! and that my little one had eaten something that was hurting his colon. I am still giving his meds though just in case. And yes the vet did feel his gut for any foreign objects. I though you all might want to know. Thanks for being there! |
When we found out Zig had pancreatis she had already lost weight before the vomiting and diarrea started. They did not keep her in the hos. on fluids either we feed her the hills i/d diet the vet prescribes in small doses 4 times a day along with yogurt once a day. It took couple weeks but she is well and she loves that food and it did not make her sicker. |

Barons stools are still loose and mucusy. He is still on the meds and the boiled chicken. I stopped the white rice and pasta as he was not too crazy about it. He's running and playing more with the other 2 dogs. But, once he has his meds he sleeps for 3-4 hours. I toook him out for a short walk and he really enjoyed it. He tried to eat an 11 weeks old female Merlequin Great Dane named Storm. She was shaking so much...That's the first sign of the old in your face Baron!! He has really had me worried! He's had problems with his bowels since I got him. My old Vet never diagnosed him. The new Vet was really on the ball. It took us 3 hours for all the tests But, I am seeing such an improvement, I know he got it right!! We go back in 2 weeks for bloodwork and see if he's improving. I feed him the Wellness Super 5 mix and the Vet said that would be fine to go back to. Thanks so much for asking how Baron was....I just don't know what I'd do if something happened to him, I love him so much!!! :) |
Oh that is good news!!! I know how happy we feel when we see just a small improvement. I pray he continues......Amen! My baby Sophie was always having looses stools, every time I turned around. So one day I added some bran (All-Bran) to her daily food, just a few sticks (6 or so) and wow did she love it. It helped clear her bowels right up and it's been 5 months since she hasn't had a problem. Oh and I only did that for about 3 days. I hope this helps you in some way. However I would not do this right now without the Dr's advise. I would not want to hurt the little one more than he already is. I hurt too when mine was in so much pain. |
I hope Sebastian is still doing well and continues to improve.:) I will keep him in my prayers. |
Thanks AbbysMom actually he seemed a little less frisky today but ate well and all else was fine. My pups have always had spunkier days and then some days less spunky...still I am keeping my eye on him. :animal36 Thanks! |
Buster Boy My Buster has been sick for over a week. It started with yellow vomit and water diarrhea. I couldn't, and still cannot, get him to eat. He is 6 years old and 8 pounds. I am on Disability so i could only afford to take him for an office visit. They wanted to do blood tests but that was $125.00 up front. The doctor gave him a shot for nausea and prescribed Flagyl Metronifazole 250 mg. i have been getting that down him twice a day for 4 days now. He is still listless and i use a syringe to get water with Pedialyte down him. I am so scared because i may lose my Buster because i cannot afford to get the proper tests. Can anyone tell me if i gave him the liquid food for older adults, that it would help. Please pray for my little boy. |
