| Recovering From Surgery Lucy was spayed today. Surgery went well but my vet said it was a difficult surgery because her uterus is really tiny (she's 3 lbs at 6 months). All went fine, just took him a little longer than usual. She's at home now and pretty sleepy. She's walked around a bit and had a bite to eat. She's doesn't seem to be in any pain but she still has pain meds in her system. I have pain meds for the next 4 days too. I'm a little worried but I think she's doing ok. I asked the vet about her baby teeth and he wants to wait a couple months to see if any fall out before removing any. Hopefully they all fall out on their own.

| I hope she has a quick, painless recovery! Stella is going in for her spay next Tuesday so I'm pretty nervous, especially since she's been teething so much lately and she hasn't been eating much because her mouth hurts, so I definitely know how you feel! |

| Everything sounds normal to me. If the teeth don't fall out, she will have to go under again though, so many vets do it at the same time as spay/neuter. It is just another surgery and possibly more preop bloodwork. Just a lot to have to do again...

Gracie slowed down on eating during her teething too. What I did was to crack her kibble so that it was tiny little pieces that she didn't have to chew at all. You could also just add a little water to soften them for her. She needs to eat and keep her strength up as much as possible before her surgery.
