Lola is fed both morning and night. |
Some dogs eat to live and some live to eat. I have to free feed Roxie. She just doesn't eat much at one time. This must work for us because she went to the vet this week and weighed in at 6 lbs. Vet didn't say a word about her weight. I definately agree with at least 2x a day preferably 3 if you can't or don't like to free feed. |
i feed every 12 hrs |
I fed Mimi once a day after she got spayed since she gained soooo much weight. Now she eats twice a day |
well, I wish I had my girl in a strict precise schedule, but I work a lot of hrs a day, so here is our dynamic: when we wake up I put in her plate some chicken chicken breast slices specially for dogs and two baby carrots. Also, I give her the nutrical. Then, when my boyfriend comes home in the afternoon (he gets home before me) he gives her the dog food. We put some dry food at the bottom of the plate and on top the wet canned food. Of that she eats a like half and then later the other half. Finally, I give her some of the fruits I eat. She specially loves watermelon. |
I give mine a small breakfast - about 1/3 of their daily meals - and a big dinner - 2/3 of daily meals. We do training most afternoons, so they get quite a few nutritious treats. When we don't do training, I fill a kong or treat ball with a bunch of treats and let them work for their snack. I used to feed Cash once a day - he wouldn't eat more, he was a very picky eater - but since June joined us, I was feeding three times a day and now twice. So, Cash has gained a lot of weight and I have to feed him less. He is very competitive, so he won't give up the opportunity to eat. I am happy with our schedule since June is a cute, chubby puppy and Cash has more energy than ever. I homecook now, so this has also been a great thing for Cash. |
