We started our three on adult food at about 10 months, but they were raised on raw until about that time. Then I home cooked for a short time. I would still be raw feeding but they got tired of it. I switched from raw and home cooking to Evo, then went to Innova small bites, solid gold wee bits, not we are levelled out with Wellness small breed. They like any of the small kibble grain frees. I also cook chicken, brown rice, and vegetables for them as special meals to feed maybe about once a week. |
You could use a good all life stages food. I would stay away from some of the extremely high protein and calcium foods since some are really not appropriate for young pups even though they say they are for ALS. Someone I know recommended us to try either Innova regular adult food (labeled as ALS) or Nature's Variety Prairie foods. These are labeled as ALS and the nutrient analysis is appropriate for puppies and adult dogs. Also, a rep from Solid Gold told me that their Wee Bits is a good ALS food for small dogs. |
I switched Maddie at 1 yr. She is on California Natural. |
