| Excerise: Do Yorkies need a lot Does this apply to all Yorkies~? Mine needs a lot of excerise. He loves to walk and we have walked as long as 3.5 hours. There are times he doesn't want to walk, but to play ball. Do some Yorkies require more excerise than others~? I do have him enrolled in an agility class for the 2nd time around. Just curious. Thanks. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | From what I have seen, different yorkies have different energy levels. Thor is ridiculous. He was running around for 90 minutes today and he'd happily do 90 more if he could. I would like to do some exercise classes, but I feel like I need to be able to tire him out before I can in good conscience spend money to do anything extra. I've heard other people say that their yorkie is fine following them around the house during the day and a 30 minute evening walk.

| I agree that it depends on the yorkie. Twinkle is very energetic and would run all day if she could. At weekends we go to the woods a park and be there for four to five hours....when we get home Wicket (who I have to carry some of the way round because of his little legs) and Kaddie (mastiff) collapse in a heap for the rest of the day - but Twinkle wants to run around the garden or play with her ball....she's on the go non-stop I think agility classes sound like a good idea - I'm thinking of enrolling Twinkle in these. I think maybe the mental challenge of it coupled with the physical might wear her out a bit! xxx
