| This feeding behavior seems odd... Hi everyone. My puppy (about 9 or 10 months) isn't crazy about her kibble. It's partly my fault because I kept giving her table scraps until I started reading this board. Now she gets no human food and just gets her Nutro puppy food, dry in the morning and a pouch of the wet food in the evening. However, Puppy won't always eat the kibble, and sometimes she'll take a piece out and drop it on the bed (we have cats who try to eat the dog food so I feed her on the bed for now just to see how much she eats) --- anyway, she'll drop a piece on the bed, then nose it around and try to bury it under the covers. She can get manic about this. She also sometimes takes a few bites of the wet food (also Nutro) and then run away from the bowl until I put her back in front of it, and then she resumes eating, walks away, I put her back at the bowl, repeat until she finishes the meal. I think maybe she's got some kind of doggy ADD since any noise distracts her from the bowl. Is this kind of stuff normal? Is she just trying to tell me she hates Nutro and wants something else? Or maybe her teeth hurt? They look OK. Last night I had to hand feed the wet food to her once she stopped eating from the bowl, and she finished the entire meal that way. |

| Oh yeah...I remember those days I could be wrong but I thought there were tons of recalls on Nutro food? Merrick makes a pretty good puppy dry and wet Pups tend to want to play with there food, and the tend to want to eat their food on the carpet. I put a towel down under their dish when they eat And I remember having to "toss" kibbles to get them to eat |

| There was a big Nutro cat food recall a couple of weeks ago -- too much zinc or something in a batch. Almost cut the Nutro out of Puppy's diet at that point but it seems all right. I've heard some grumblings about Nutro dog food but I haven't seen anything definite yet, and she's been eating it for so long that I worry if I switch her to something else she'll react badly. Probably just me being paranoid. Just fed her a pouch of wet Nutro and she wolfed it down like I'd been starving her all day (she's been refusing to eat the dry kibble today). |

| I would switch Nutro as fast as possible. I fed it for 2 weeks and while it didn't have any effects on Jackson... I got scared and didn't even want to risk it. I felt the same way at first like "Oh, it can't be that bad..." but I've learned a ton about dog nutrition through this board and my own research and I just would never feed a food like Nutro again. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ighlight=nutro Go read some consumer Affairs reports.

| We started Snickers on Nutro dry and canned and he never ate well. We were uneducated and bought him from a pet store and thats what they had him on, so we continued and then I found YorkieTalk. Then we switched to Merrick Puppy Plate and he ate, and ate, and ate. He then became picky again (this breed is known for this) even though we didn't give him table scraps. He did pretty well on the Merrick. Nutro food just seems gross, I don't know many pups that like it and it has had a ton of recalls and suspicion of poisoning dogs, I would never risk it. I would change puppy's food pronto. Some GREAT puppy foods are: Innova Puppy (The Healthiest Pet Foods in the World – Natural & Organic Pet Food – Natura Pet Products) Wellness Just for Puppy Merrick Puppy Plate Good luck Snick & Viv
