| Itching Ears Hello I just purchased my first Yorkie and hes 3 1/2 months he has been itching his ears like crazy. I feel so bad I went to the vet yesterday well I just seen the assistant and she didnt offer much idiot! The breeder said maybe its because she shaves hair around ears and its growing back. I also seen infections can cause itching im going to another vet today. Have any suggestions? I just love my little Gizmo |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome and congrats on your new baby. I shave my girls ears all the time and have never had them scratch. I would have a different vet check it out too.

| It is probably either a bacterial or yeast infection or mites. He needs a diagnosis and meds which an assistant or tech should never attempt.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Mites aren't viewable by the naked eye...she would've had to swab his ear and look at it under a microscope.

| my puppy did the same thing and had a yeast infection in her ears, they have to check it under a microscope to be sure, but I think it was just like $12 more to have them do that. |

| It may also be the type of food he is on, that is making him itch. What type of food do you feed him? |
