| Hello I have two yorkie babies that are 8.5 mo and 9 mo.old. I was wondering how often you all feed your babies. I feed mine breakfast (dry food), lunch (dry food) and dinner (dry with a little wet mixed in) but is this too much? I don't want my guys to get chubby! Thanks Ollie and Coopers mom |

| Senior Yorkie Talker | i "free feed" my girl.... she eats when shes hungry i guess, lol.... she's 1 yr old and weighs a little under 5lbs so the "free feeding" isnt doing her any harm =] i think that as long as they are active there shouldnt be a problem.... thats my opinion.

| I'll be the odd one out.. Franklin and Maggie are 1 and 4 years old. I feed them 2-3 times a day, usually twice though. Breakfast and dinner.

| Layla gets fed multiple times a day- very small meals (But she has a pancrease issue) however, I think that like people, this is the best way for dogs to eat too. She probably eats anywhere from 3-6 times a day- depending on her activity level for the day. But each time is just a very small little meal. |

| I usually feed 2x day. Depending on how much they eat though, I may do a light meal either at lunch or nighttime. Hot Rod is 14 mo and Maggie is 6 mos.

| ♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Every morning we measure out Bella's daily amount (1/2 c.) of food, and then we give her half in the morning and have in the evening. It's basically measured free feeding because she eats whenever she wants to. I like measuring it so that I can keep tabs on how much she has eaten. Also, I can't use a bowl because for some reason she hates it and won't eat out of it (she even eats MUCH less if it's on a plate), so I pour it out on her puppy placemat! If I put her entire day's allotment out, she would just be overwhelmed with how much food was there and not eat....she's a weird one! |

| There are 5 girls in my pack from 1 year to 7 years old. They eat in the morning (little bit of canned along with kibble) and then more kibble in the evening. At noon, they get baby carrots or a little bit of fruit or yogart. Mine are all super healthy. Puppies should eat more often but not necessary more food. I would suggest dividing up the recommended serving into several smaller meals during the day. Welcome to YT too!! |
