The Dog Food Project - How does your Dog Food Brand compare? Good Luck!!! |
i'm sorry, I meant Cesar Canine Cuisine. . . the one with the fluffy white dog on that tub! |
It is not a good food. I didn't know it until I joined Yt and fed my dogs Cesar's. I switched them to California Natural. |
I didnt know!!! What are some other good foods I can feed to my baby??? Do you all suggest dry or wet, or even both? |

I started feeding these to Maddie when she quit eating dry food all together. It was the only thing she would eat, and boy did she eat them. However, she started having runny poo and vomiting. Suspecting it was the food, I took her to the vet just to be sure. She said these are too rich for thier tummies. She compared it to us eating chocolate cake for every meal. I was also told they are lacking in nutrients and vitamins. So in short...not good for them at all. I took her off them immediatly and now she eats California Natural and loves it! |
I suggest dry. Cesar is not a good food at all. Jackson will get it occasionally mixed in a little bit with his dry food (switched between Wellness and Before Grain dry dog food.) Also, I don't think that Ceasar's wet food is an actual balanced diet, if I remember correctly it's not supposed to be sole source of nutrition. |

Someone else here on YT suggested this wonderful website that rates dog foods. Dog Food Reviews - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost Try one of the 5 or 6 stars rated foods!! Good Luck!!! |
We feed Cassie Royal Canin for Yorkies and she is doing very well. We once bought her Cesar Canine Cuisine and she didn't want to finish the meal and later brought it all up, so no Cesar for her again. |
i have always fed my dogs the Ceasear's wet food (when I feed wet). It is the one food they will eat when they are sick and not eating anything else. I also mix it in when I start weaning baby puppies. and pregnant or nursing mothers. |
Thanks guys! I am going out today, the only brand sold closest to me is Merrick, so I am going to get a can and have Emmett try it. |
Sorry to double post... i just wanted to update you on what I got. I got a can of wellness wet food and a can of merrick wetfood (to see which he likes better) and I also got a bag of wellness kibble. I have been feeding him Purina Healthy Morsels brand Dog Food With Real Lamb & Rice Soft & Crunchy Bites, so I plan to mix that with the wellness kibble to get him used to it since I assume Purina isnt good for him either... right? |

that is not needed in a dog's diet. A lot of fillers! I'm still learning dog nutrition myself but I do know Purina is NOT good, lol. Good choice switching to the Wellness brand. Alot of people on here seem to use Wellness and they have a 5 star rating on Dogfoodanalysis. I buy Jackson Wellness Super5Mix and Merrick's Before Grain dry food and switch/rotate back and forth. He gets wet food mixed in every morning with the kibble. |
