get you to sign a waiver before they put your babies under for surgery?

I've never been asked to sign a waiver, and I had a Yorkie would had two fairly serious surgeries.

The animal hospital I used to use in the past did for most anything that required anesthetics. It basically asks for your okay and upon death or what have you, they are not held responsible. If your pet reacts in any way to the anesthetic used, they are not liable. Of course, if you don't sign it giving them the go ahead for the anesthesia, whatever needs to be done just won't get done.

The other clinics I've used since then never had me sign anything before the procedures.

I was wondering about this. At the clinic, which is the only one where I live. They get you to sign a waiver, and that in itself freaks me out. I know my babies are in good hands, but it just freaks me out.

I think it's pretty much standard here in the UK - just like a consent form for humans in hospital.

Yes, I had to sign a form for Thor's dental cleaning. It was quite extensive, so they put him under. I think it's standard here.

I always had to sign a consent form when the little ones went for surgeries .

Absolutely.
It is informed consent to anesthetized and if a vet's office didn't make me sign one, I'd question it.

no but theres always a chance something could happen under aneth highly unlikely but some could have a reaction

my old vet had the same waiver to sign. i think it is a CYA thing for them (but i have rather hostile feelings towards them lol). obviously if you are having surgery you are consenting to the procedure and use of anesthesia. but i hated how it said they were not liable should something happen to my babies
