A little concerned...
 
Deb is 13 weeks old and she is a little over 2lbs....I am new to being a puppy owner of any kind...not to mention a tiny yorkie. I went by what my vet told me which was that she needed her rabies shot at 13 weeks. Everything I am reading on this post is saying that is way too young. She had her rabies shot today. She is very lethargic since having her shot...she is just laying around. She did eat, but thats really all. Should I be concerned?

The point is that the research since the 1960s has proven that MOST vaccines do more harm than good, that most DON'T even work and that THEY actually CAUSE much worse conditions than they are designed protect against. You will see a major shift in the coming years as more and more people become enlightened to the truth and more people sue their vets for not informing them of exactly what the risks are.

The inventor of the modern day vaccine killed his own son by the age of 21 by over vaccinating him.

If you care, please research the subject and get a second opinion from a homeopathic vet who knows the truth and doesn't rely on vaccines for their livlihood.

In most states as far as I am aware the rabies is not valid unless given after 4 months, although I know in Texas it can be given before that becuse Chai got her's from her breeder's vet before she was hipped to me and the vet here in CA wanted to give her another even though she was less than 2 lbs and was only a week shy of her 4 months. I refused. You would need to see what the law says in CT. But, my point is that there is no need to vaccinate for any reason and every reason not too. Even the rabies if it is required by law can be waived if you get the right vet to sign the waiver. You can still get the health certificates for travel, your dog can still play and socialize with other dogs and animals with little or no risk . It is much healthier for the dog to avoid any vaccines you can. Please read up on this at www.thepetwhisperer.com

I realize now that I should have done more research, and I will do that before Deb has any more vaccines....but my concern right now is that she had the rabies shot today and is so lethargic tonight. Should I be concerned about this or is this normal????

My dogs were always tired after they got their shots. If she is crying or achy to the touch she is having a reaction.

She isnt crying...just sleeping. When we hold her she just falls asleep in our arms...she did eat her dinner tonight and now I am noticing that she has sneezed a few times and sounds a little "stuffy". What do you think?

I think she is probably fine. Those shots do make them sleepy.

the vet told me it's normal that they become lethargic after the shot. If she's eating, she should be fine. A friend's yorkie also got lethargic, and looked very uncomfortable after the shot, but then got back to normal the next day. The vet also told me that some dogs may throw up or have diarehhia. So if she's just tired, is should be fine. See if she's ok tomororw! good luck!

I don't agree too much on not giving shots to the dogs...Prior to getting the shot, i didn't let my puppy get on the ground outside my apt, so he doesn't lip or sniff where other dogs have walked past. This was both recommended by the vet and my breeder. Imagine the world when all dogs don't receive vaccines.

Thank you...I feel a little less worried now. I will keep a close eye on her tonight and hope she is back to her normal wild self tomorrow ( remind me that I wished for that when she is climbing the walls tomorrow ;)) This message board is great.....when you have concerns, there is always someone out there to help out!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!

It is a "reaction" but not really a need for condern I don't thinkunless it lasts longer than a day. I would keep a journal on her health history for the future so you have documantation of her "reactions" to vaccines and possible help your vet get her a waiver from any furhter vaccines.
