Fleas The Cedarcide (cedar Oil base) has its own website. Apparently the stuff was made for the troops in the first gulf war c1990s to help rid the bugs in the boots. It does work quick, but after reading the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), I tend not to use it on the guys, just as a spot treatment for ants, wasps etc. Good stuff, it does work, but it's not cheap. Two small mist spray cans around $25 with s/h. May want to use it around the house/yard to rid/control insects. To the other "posters" tks for all the good tips. |

Still fighting the fleas!!!!! Thanks for all of your advice. but i'm still battling the fleas. Last Sat. went to the vet and bought Frontline Plus again and 2 flea bombs for the house. Bathed Tyke Sat. and got way to many fleas off of him. Treated him with the frontline plus. We put the flea bombs in the house when we left going out of town for 3 days. I got back vacummed and mopped. I only have throw rugs in my house. I treated the yard. The vacumm cleaner is stored outside in a storage room so it's not in my house. I've done everything I know to do and it doesn't seem like anything is working. Coconut oil didn't work. I bathed him today and got 5 fleas off of him. I'm at my witts end on what to do. Eventually I have to win this battle. Maybe I just need to give it a little more time. I ordered Tyke some k-9 Advantix to try. A few people told me on here they have good luck with that. I'm just so sick of this and i feel so sorry for Tyke:( I've also tryed natural things and they don't work either. I'm SO SRESSED! |
I live in South Mississippi, too, on the coast, and the fleas can be horrible. I treat the yard, not my dogs. I'm using Spectracide 'Once and Done' now. I've had pretty good luck with that. It doesn't work as long as the label says (up to 3 months) so I reapply every 6 weeks. Not sure how your house is, but if it's on piers the fleas will forever be under your house. If that's the case, you'll need to treat under the house as well. If you can find any camphor trees, leaves from that will help keep them away. They grow wild down here so it may not be hard for you to find some. |
I am right there with you! Taylor looks so bad I might have to get her a dress to cover up her hair loss. My girls said "oh mom we can't take her to Nanny's looking like this" So we might be shopping for yet another Easter dress;) I just put Taylor on Comfortis, and the Doc suggested I put a few drops of front line on her as well. I use the Frontline on my other 2 fur kids so I just saved a little from them and put it on her. I remember using skin so soft from avon years ago, I think I'll bath her with that too and see if it helps. My other 2 don't seem to have the fleas, but then again they stay at home. We bring Taylor with us all the time. May you all have a Blessed Easter! Happy Empty Tomb ! <>< |
