I think she meant that Hot Rod did his best to give himself a bath...

No, I didn't bathe him. He was in his crate and cleaning himself. I stayed up and watched over him to make sure that he was not licking his stitiches. Poor baby just wanted to get the smell of the hospital off of himself. It is a nauseating smell, not alcholol but something else.

Thank you. You and mee both! I am sorry that Roxy may be faced with another surgery for her knee. Sounds like she has been through quite a bit. It is not a fun thing for them or for us mommies to go through. Let's hope the cosequin helped. :)

wow those pictures gave me such mixed emotions!
i was so sadden by all those stitches and couldnt image the pain the is in
yet i was really at ease and comfort because he was there ever so comfortably in your arms resting

I'm glad that Hot rod is doing well. I am off to the vet this morning to finish off Bitsi's puppy shots and while I am there I'm going to schedule Meaty's surgery. I put it off for a week now but he won't even use his leg soooooo, I guess it's time. I talked to my boss at work and he said that I could bring him to work with me for a few days after the surgery, so that makes me feel a little better, at least I won't have to leave him alone afterwards. I will post when I find out when his surgery is.

Thanks for all your well wishes. He had a rough night last night, I think it was the wind and he is definitely tired of being in the crate. Finally I took him out a about 2 am and held all night. So he got sleep and mommy got to watch the food network channel all night. I learned how chick-fil-a got started. :p He seems better this morning, he finally ate something. Dr had me take him off the meds cause he thought it was upseting his tummy.

I am going to try and take him out for a walk with hubby and maggie later on today. I think the fresh air will do him a world of good. :)

I think that getting ready for the surgery is the hard part. I felt a big sigh of relief when the dr called me afterwards and even enormous relief when I got to hold him in my arms. Don't get me wrong, the recovery time is difficult but knowing that it is for the better is getting me through it. Plus I get to really spoil him. :p

Good luck with Meaty's surgery. That is great that you can bring him to work after. I am at home all the time and I couldn't imagine what it would be like if I had to leave, especially the first few days. No way! I will send good thoughs and prayers for a safe and quick surgery. Keep us updated.

Bless his sweet little heart. If we could only tell them "you will feel better and be able to run and play" that is what is so hard, we can't. I'm sure he's getting plenty love from Mommy. Hugs, Joan

Glad Hot Rod is doing well. I'll be going through a double knee surgery next week Wednesday with my Pommie. Quite concerned about the 'after.'

Thank You you are very sweet. I may pm you after his surgery, just in case I need some advice:) He is scheduled for wednsday. I'm very worried about him he is small like your hot rod.
