Same here, my vet suggested that I could order from online and get her heartworm meds cheaper. Also, suggested I order because the office doesn't carry interceptor, which he said would be better for Maddie's size. He didn't try to push me into buying the heartguard he sells there in the office.:rolleyes:

Have you checked out petshed.com, they have always been the cheapest for revolution which most places need a presription since it is considered a drug and not a pesticide, it is out of australia.

Okay, I talked to the vet about not being able to buy on petmeds and he sold it to me for the price they were going to charge me...Thank god b/c I was not in a good mood when I went in there!! The girls in the front are rude!!!!!

Sheesh. I get so frustrated by all the vet bashing on here. If you don't like something about your vet find a new one. I hate to break it to everyone but vets do need to make money <gasp>. Why should they have to pay thousands and thousands and thousands in tuition and then give their services away to people who don't want to pay for them? It's like people think vets shouldn't be in their profession to make a living.

Okay, no one said anything about bashing their vet!!!! I was talking about the bitchy receptionist the vet hired..And if you dont like reading it...DONT!!!!!

Hmm. That's funny. Because if you go and read several of the responses to your original post there is some pretty negative responses concerning veterinarians. Wonder why the receptionist is bitchy....

Well there are some pretty bad veternarians out there, so they deserve the negative comments!!! And if the receptionist doesnt like her job, FIND A NEW ONE!! There is no reason to be a bitch to a paying customer that comes in there!!!!!!!

I've used 1800 Pet Meds many times but ordered a prescription product once(Heartguard plus tablets) and my vet refused to either fax or call them for a prescription and they told me i had to go there and pick up a written one to send to 1800 pet meds.I mean, what's the whole point of ordering online?I was so irritated!!!:mad: In fact, just now i was about to order some Heartguard online from DRS Foster and Smith because they have lower prices than 1800 pet meds on that item, so i called my vet again and asked them if they could phone or fax their pharmacy to give them the prescription and they refused and told me the same thing they did last time!!!:mad:

When I had Audrey-Belle in the vet last week for the grass thing there was a notice on the wall of the room they put us in saying if you don't get your heartworm/flea protection from the vet it could be black market or a knock off using the brand name. In otherwords not the real thing even though it looks like it. Therefore it probably won't give the protection it should.
