She is adorable! I am with the others on this one. I'd follow the regime that bchgirl gave you. She is so small, constant attention to her intake, and her physical behavior is essential. Keep us updated on her please. |
if she was the runt of the liter her teeth may not be all in... |

1 Attachment(s) Here is another photo of her. . . . I'm a good girl! :p |
Look's 8-9weeks to me. |
3 Attachment(s) My Bandit was only 1 lb 4 oz when we got him at 9 weeks i'll attach some pictures. The first one is the ride home from the breeders. and the second one is of him at 6 weeks, you can see a major difference in the hair. The third one is his 1st Birthday. He is now only 4 lbs. Your baby is adorable!! |
Just got the call. . . . . and shes positive for worms! The vet told me that it cannot effect anybody unless you touch the stool. I'm the only one that has touched her stool but I always washed me hands right after and of course with a napkin wraped around her stool. All the suddenly, I'm starting to feel all itchy! haha. The vet is going to perscribe some meds for her. Does anybody know about how much I should give her? Remember on Monday she weigh only 1.2oz so I don't want to over dose her. (I'm freaked about over dosing  with all the stories I hear.) Then I started to ask about the moving white things... a grain of rice. They want me to bring her in right away to see if its MAGGOTS! I'm so scared I dont' know what to do... I gotta see if I can leave early! |

Have you change the vet yet? As you mention, the dosing is very important since she is so small. You may want to start a new thread asking if anyones know of a vet familiar with tiny dogs in your area. |
With these other issues beginning to show up, I'd be a little suspicious of the breeder tbh. Are you really really sure that she's respectable-- visited the place, saw the dogs and their parents yourself, or had a very trustworthy recommendation from somebody else who had? AKC registration means nothing as far as how good the breeder and their facilities are-- and if the pup is crawling with parasites, it would worry me that she might not be being forthright with you. :/ Little squirmy white things could also be lice-- which are a lot easier to deal with than maggots. Fingers crossed that's all it is! If they aren't moving, white grain of rice looking things near puppy's back end could be tapeworm segments. |
Just checking in to see if you updated about the re-visit to the vet. Hoping all is well. |

Yes... I found out what it was. It was just lice! "thanks god JUST lice and not maggots" I took her in on Saturday.... i think I'm going to change my vet to that saw my baby on Saturday (forgot his name) the female vet seems to not know ANYTHING about my baby. Anywhoo... all her problems are getting taken care of so hopefully by the next week or so it should clear up. I'll keep everybody posted! |
I am so sorry your new puppy has so many problems. Will your breeder reimburse you for your vet bills? I would absolutely get that puppy bile acid tested as soon as she is old enough (20 weeks) to make sure she doesn't have a liver shunt. |
