Bless you for taking him in. He is so cute. As for the breeder...kind of shocking. Wish she'd be reported. |

My story is very similar to yours. I bought my puppy from a pet store and thought he was healthy, but we found out he has ringworms. When i talked to someone from the pet store, they told us to bring back the puppy and I am sure they wold do the same thing to him. My puppy still has them though. Which medicine do you think helped yours? And for you go to your doctors and get Clotrimazole for yourself. My daughter and I got them also. |
So sorry to hear that you are going through this. It has been 5 months and we are still dealing with it, although not nearly as bad as before. I used the medicated shamposs, all the otc creams, lotions, sprays and powders on his body along with lime sulphur dips and it finally cleared them all up. I was so afraid of getting all that in his eyes and nose that I was not able to treat his face properly. He continued to have active lesions there and he finally got old/big enough for the vet to give him oral meds. He did 10 days on ketoconazole. I think (pray) we finally have this taken care of. I had to go back to the doctor for more meds as did my granddaughter, son and his girlfriend:cry:. He is 6 months now, so his immune system should be getting where if there are any more popping up, he can fight them off. I had 76 spots at one time  and now only have 2 stubborn ones that don't won't to completely go away. I still wash everything regularly and change his bed out every few weeks as well as vacumming regularly. It is a very frustrating and aggravating problem, but hopefully we are about done with it. I will post pictures of him later so you can see that the hair does come back. He lost almost all of his hair and I was afraid he would end up with permanent bald spots. He is such a handsome little man, and yes, I would do it all again for all the joy he has brought into my life !!!! Hang in there..... it will get better !!!:) |

Just a thought but have you ever tried oil of walnut on the leasions? When my son was a wrestler in high school he had ringworm from dirty sweaty mats in gym. We had several rounds of different meds but what finally, totally, got rid of these lesions once and for all was Oil of walnut. You can apply as often as you like topically and within 1 week will be gone for good. It works great!!!!!! Sometimes grandmas old time remedies are the best!!!!!!!!! lol Best of Luck!!!!!!!:aimeeyork:animal-pa:animal-pa |
