I've noticed that Prince will rub his face (a lot) after eating, sometimes. This behavior is relatively new. He'll jump on the bed and start almost running in circles while rubbing his face. I've noticed that he will do that after eating his chicken strips or chicken snacks. Does anyone know why he does this?

Of course I'm assuming it has something to do with chicken...

You know I don't know why they do it either but my little lexi does that same dance sometimes after eating or if she gets her face too wet in the water bowl or if the grass has dew on it and her paws get a little wet--it's pretty funny to watch. She also like to do that after I wash the sheets on the bed. I don't know what I would do with out them to entertain me.

Gizmo does the same thing after he's done eating, I just assumed that he was cleaning his face off!

Laya does the same thing. It's like a ritual with her. Then she gets up and kicks her back legs like Yum that was good!

So it probably doesn't have anything to do with chicken?? I hope not because Prince loves chicken. It is a cute ritual though. Thanks for the feedback!

Nope, she wasn't having chicken! But...I am wondering when my rug is going to smell like dogfood...LOL!

I forget his age, is he still a puppy? It could just be a face cleaning thing he likes to do. But, if he's still young and you think this resembles the face pressing/head rubbing of liver shunt, then I'd maybe get it looked into...

She is 9. Oh cr...what is liver shunt? She eats liver treats all the time. Is that something bad??

Just found out by googling! She just had a total exam and nothing wrong with her liver. But...eating too many liver treats wouldn't do anything would it?

chester does the same thing after his wet, dry food mix and goes ariound and rubs his face on his dog bed, they are very entertaining arent they

Morgan doesn't do it after eating, but she does do it whenever her face or body gets wet in anyway. ie - after it rains, when i clean her face, when i clean her eyes, if i wipe her feet or bootie, if i spray perfume or leave on conditioner on her, etc. its funny to watch. she does it every night after i brush her teeth too
