| hair loss question???? I have noticed lately when giving my Izzy her bath that she is losing a lot of hair...no baldness any where. I didn't think yorkies were suppose to shed like this. I ask my husband if they shed a winter coat but he said no...I don't give her vitamins and I feed her Purina small bites and Ceasers Cuisine...she will not touch Iams or Eucanuba! Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.. Last edited by srshaffer; 03-10-2009 at 07:06 AM. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | She should not be "shedding". Hair loss is a symptom of thryroidism and also mange. She needs to see the vet to determine the cause.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Unless there is enough hair loss to see it visually and a vet to suggest testing....a blood test would be required to diagnose a thyroid problem. Mange would require a skin scrapping. You may want to consider feeding her a higher quality food....

| I have the same problem! I see hair in his bath water and lightly on my clothes when I wear white. I am switching his food from Royal Canin to Innova puppy dry food. I think it may be the corn meal. He has a full beautiful coat. |
