| My yorkie's diet I fix chicken, rice and carrots and feed it to my 3 year old, 12 lb yorkie, Elvis every day once in morning and once at night- in between he has evo dog food - is very healthy any comments on this diet? Pam |

| since it sounds like your cooking is more than 10% of his diet it is IMPERATIVE that his diet includes supplements- he needs a multivitamin formulated for dogs as well as the proper calcium/phosphorus ratio which is dependent on the amount of cal/phos that is already in his diet. |

| What you are feeding him is good for him, but my understanding is that if home cooked food takes up more than 10% of his diet, then you need to be adding supplements. Missy eats home cooked 100% of the time. Chicken with rice and carrots is one of her fav meals.

| I concur. Feeding certain human foods as all or part of a dogs diet is just fine but once you hit the 10% mark, it is time to start supplementing.
