| Yorkie has urinary tract infection Has anyone experienced their baby having a urinary tract infection? My little girl, 5 months old, has one and is on antibiotics now. My vet starting talking about a liver shunt being very common in yorkies and sometimes is the reason for the UTI. I am now worried, I read about liver shunts and it has me scared.

| It is very possible that your pup has a UTI for no reason related to the liver. However, all Yorkies over 20 weeks should really be tested for liver shunt anyway and your vet is right. They can go together. It wouldn't hurt to check.. You might want to wait til she is feeling better though.
