 |  Exactly - well almost exactly.  Both varieties of beets are from the family Beta vulgaris.  Beet pulp is a byproduct from processing sugar beets and is and used as fodder because of it's high energy and fiber content.  We used to feed it to our pregnant mares and to horses prone to colic.    
From all of the searches I have done, I can't find any information leads one to believe that organic beet powder that is for human consumption would be harmful to dogs.  I was just trying to pick brains and see if perhaps I might have missed something. |
