First, may I express my deepest condolences over the loss of your Mother.
Second, may I commend you for being a loving daughter and taking her Yorkie home to live with you.
Third, I will tell you what works for me with my soon to be 13 year old Yorkie who is an "easy gainer". I cut her regular food, (right now, I am feeding Eagle Pack Holistic Select Small & Mini Breed Adult) food by 1/3, and add chopped, salt-free, canned green beans. Works like a charm.
I bathe both my Yorkies with Espree Silky Show Shampoo; no itch dry skin.
