Obviously your vet is not greedy! My vet has never charged me for removal of decidous teeth. Now I would guess that an older one with retained teeth that have caused major dental issues might cost more; but a younger pup with retained teeth....I think it is ridiculous to charge some of the prices I have seen on this thread. |

I just paid $95 for Sully being neutered and having 4 baby teeth pulled and his glands checked. I thought that was reasonable and we are located in central Ky. |

Very reasonable indeed! |
I am in southern california, Mia had 4 teeth puled 189.00. 100 for drugs the rest was teeth and tax. |
At 9 months of age, my Biewer Daphne had 19 baby teeth removed for $124.00. |
My vet who specializes in small dogs charges what seems to be a highly reasonable $89 for neuter, and $35 for full bloodwork, but an outrageous $10-$17 per pulled tooth. Nikko will be neutered in two days, and for the past month we have been doing everything we can think of to get rid of those baby teeth: tug-of-war, ice cubes made with kibble and water, bully sticks, you name it. We've even been a little more lax with his obsession with chewing on gravel from our backyard, lol. Lauren & Nikko |
The place i go in Florida costs 10$, but i think the price varies depending on your location. |
At what age are your pups getting their Canine teeth pulled? Roxy is going to be 6 months and I can see that the canines are halfway in and the baby ones are still there..still very snug. Believe it or not.. I have been wiggling some of those baby teeth and pulled some out on my own..no different then a kid losing them. When the pups are all tuckered out..get in there and wiggle them..lol! She doesn't even budge. |
My vet wrote on the estimate that pulling a tooth would be $40 a tooth. I thought that high with all the oher charges but they told me that was worst case scenario -- if complications were involved. They charged much less than that on the bill -- I think it was $15 a tooth -- but that was in addition to other costs. I did one of the dentals along with a neutering so that saved money and the other was when full body xrays were needed, so again, it at least 1/2'd the cost of anesthesia. |
