My Bella Boo didn't care for them either, it was the Merrick brand, maybe I'll try a different one, and see if she likes it. I was really disapointed after I read all the rave reviews, and she just sniffed it and walked away :( |
My baby Cassie loves them...she has never become sick and I have given her these since she was 4 months old. Great with teething! |
I always order mine from AMD, a member here at YT (www.westbrookdog.com). She always has a great price. Not to mention they seem fresher and lighter in color than the ones at the pet stores. Bonnie is so cute when I give her a new one. She lays it in the floor and barks at it. Then she growls, picks it up and throws it, then some more barking. That goes on for over half an hour. I tell DH that she has to "kill" it before she eats it:rolleyes: I am sure bullies have kept her from chewing a whole lot of stuff she shouldn't be chewing. |
My furbutts love Bully Sticks!!!!!! We get ours from Westbrookdog.com. They don't have a smell like others do and they are alot less expensive than the pet stores and even ebay. When I receive them in the mail , I will tell my babies, Mommy got your Bully Sticks in today and they go nuts:eek:They will start crying and jumping on me while I am opening the package. And I give them each one and they will take off and lay down and start chewing on them.LOL. :D |
I've bought some from AMD (Westbrook Dog) before and have found hers to be superior and cheaper than buying the quality ones locally. Plus I didn't notice her's having the awful smell. I've bought Merrick and it smelled really bad after only a short time. |
Brooklynn has about 12 different bones, and the Bully stick is the only one she chews on! She will even play fetch with it already! I am going to putting an order in with AMD very soon! |
bully sticks vs rawhide I use to give Belle rawhide but noticed she was getting pieces off of it, was scared she'd choke. My hubby bought her a pressed rawhide bone that we stuck one end in her Kong and she loved it until I found that they come apart very easily and she was getting pieces that I had to take away from her. Now I get the bully sticks at our local pet/farm supply store and they don't smell. Belle loves them and carries them around but chews mostly at night before we go to bed. When they get too short, her helpful brother (85 pound lab) finishes them up for her. I also gave her a braided one but no more, she was getting it apart as it got smaller and the pieces were small enough to choke her. She loves that bully sticks (some people call them pizzle sticks) as she needs something to chew on since she has eaten most all of her toys! |
My pup loves them. I also order them from the westbrookdog site. I don't really understand the big fuss about it being a tendon from a bull's penis. There's all kinds of animal parts that we feed other animals...it's not like it actually looks like a penis laying on the floor (now that would be a little odd! lol) But maybe it's just the nurse in me that's not grossed out by it. Anyway, I would highly recommend them from that website! |
i also buy bully sticks from westbrook dog and my magic just loves them. they do not smell at all and he also loves the dumbbell bully sticks westbrook has. but he eats the whole thing on the same day. we buy the 5" ones. she is very good to deal with and it is always a fast ship. will not be buying my bully sticks from any one else but westbrook.:aimeeyork |
What Bull's Penis!? ewwwww! Never heard of it. |
Ordered some too! I ordered some from Westbrook, but we're waiting for them to come in!!! After hearing how much other babies loved them, we just had to give them a try, so we're anxiously awaiting their arrival!!! |
Nancy, does your baby eat Merrick food, if so what flavor? I'm trying to find a high quality brand that Zhoie will eat. We have went through many and nothing she will eat yet. |
What is a good brand of Bully Stick to buy? Ginger loves them, but they make her sick. I think I bought her the red barn brand? |

And I mean: STINK! I knew already what they are made of and I they are supposed to be safer than a lot of rawhides or those dreadful greenies. Unfortunately, after chewing these my dogs breath smells like they ate a bunch of cow manure. And it makes them SOOOO happy and thankful, that they immediately want to kiss me with their stinky breath! :thumbdown But, if it makes them happy and saves my furniture or my slippers,..... |
