I looked at Merrick ( the regular not the before grain formula) also , I can buy it right down the street , so I was going to try it.
I wasn't sure about some of the ingredients listed in some entrees such as sea salt and whole garlic cloves. I thought they were bad for dog's?
I wanted to do more research before I bought it, but then got side tracked and ended up with a different food.
I have heard others say their dogs loved it. If the salt and garlic were OK then I would think it sounds like a good food. | The salt should be fine because AAFCO allows minimums and maximums for nutritients and if it exceeded that, it couldn't be AAFCO approved. Just depends on how much you trust AAFCO. ;)
I would rather not feed garlic to my dog everyday and run the risk of damaging red blood cells, so I would not use this food.
Merrick also seems to have more of a history of recalls than other products, so I question their quality control. |
